Have you tried cold outreach before? If so, what was the response?

That’s great! And insightful, I can see how the video tour helps, especially because you don’t know how anything works until you’ve been.

This was a great call just like last week’s call. I appreciate having a group to bring things to where we can share and learn from each other. Thanks for making this happen Brian!

Following up on @Brian De Mint ‘s comment on today’s call about Firestone, Edison and Ford’s camping trip where the three took time to learn from each other and throw out ideas. It reminds me of Mark 1:35 where Jesus got up early in the morning, before it was light, and went off to a solitary place where he prayed. While the famous three business pioneers didn’t necessarily go to pray we know that Jesus set the example for us to have quiet time to start our day; to go focus and mentally plan for the day. @April Devlin and I have adopted this policy in our house when we get up each day, it could be the daily Bible passage we read or some Bible plan we’re studying but taking the time to get up and start the day in our Bibles helps adjust our focus, to remind us of who we’re called to be and to have a fresh start each day. It’s a small change that has made a big difference for us. Take a few minutes, get away from the noise and get that fresh start because we all know the calls, emails and fires we have ahead of us each day.
how do you build team culture and accountability?
Hi all, Great to be on the call with you all this morning. Question for the group: how do you build team culture and accountability when your staff barely see each other? I run a float & bathhouse wellness/recovery space in Australia — small team, staggered shifts: someone opens, someone else closes. Some people work 3-4 morning a week while others do the afternoon shift etc. We have extra hands on weekends as it’s our busiest times. We also part-time massage therapists. No two people work the same hours, and we almost never have the whole team in one room. Culture ends up living in group chats and handover notes, and accountability gets fuzzy. For those of you running staggered teams or multiple locations — what's actually moved the needle? Regular all-hands (paid meeting outside trading hours)? Shift scorecards? Rituals? Keen to hear what worked AND what you tried that flopped.

In a previous job as a Jailer we had 6 people all on different shifts with some overlap but not much. Some things that helped our team culture were briefing logs; a central place to leave updates for the whole team (like something broke but we reported it and it’s due to be fixed), having a supervisor that worked across multiple shifts (helped to maintain unified values/goals) and shift trades or overtime where someone filled in for a different person on a day or time they didn’t normally work. In your case I would bet that most of that unification falls on you but even then if you don’t have to work a specific shift you could always stop by on different days / time.
If I were starting a business today, I WOULD NOT use AI right away.
There are two things I would do BEFORE I used AI to make sure I don't actually hurt my business. I explain in this video.

@Brian De Mint yes, we use a CRM that has a follow up component to it. It can do a lot more than we currently use it for but some touches need to be personalized. Others like potential renter leads when we have a place for rent get automated from first contact to showing time which frees up a ton of time.
