Hey guys. Sorry but I have to cancel this week’s call. I have to go help family with some stuff. We’ll be back at it next week 🤙

@Efren Guerrero 👌
I SENT 15,000 COLD DMs THIS YEAR... Here's what happened 👇
Have you tried cold outreach before? If so, what was the response?

@Nathan Devlin thanks. Yeah, I’m really glad we added that in. I’m surprised how many people actually open that email and watch the video. The email’s subject line is: “What to expect on your first visit to Salt & Light”. So I guess it answers a question for them

@James Averis thanks bro 🤙
My weeks started becoming more effective when I set themes for each day
Monday "Coordinate" - This is the day I have regularly scheduled meetings with my leaders so their week is put on a trajectory for success. - One solid formal meeting at the beginning of the week has enabled us to effectively communicate for the remainder of the week via Slack & Email. - If my team needs another call later in the week that's fine, but that often isn't necessary if our Monday meeting was effective. Tuesday "Deep Work" - My focus is on high value work. - I block out at least 90 minutes where I am unreachable except by someone knocking on my door or my wife can call me. - The temptation is to say that the whole day should be uninterrupted, but that's unrealistic. 90 minutes twice per week of undistracted work is highly effective. - You'll still get other important work done on this day outside of your golden 90 minutes. But knowing that 90 minutes is there helps me set a priority. I don't want to waste that time on my third highest priority so it'll force me to figure out what's #1. Wednesday "Community" - This day is set aside for more ministry-focused community. - For some this could be a networking day. - For others it could be a great day to boost team morale. - Buy your staff lunch. - Sit and talk with them on a personal level. - Surprise a staff member by covering the front desk for her while you send her out to get a paid lunch break and you buy her lunch. Thursday "Deep Work" - Just like Tuesday Friday "Buffer Day" - If there were any high value things that didn't get accomplished this week, they get done today. - This is a day where I'll schedule lunch meetings or coffee. - As often as possible I try to bounce out of work an hour or two early to surprise the family by getting an early start on the weekend. - Family movie night, friend's bday parties, or sometimes Knott's Berry Farm Saturday "Church + Family Day" - Family workout or active adventure in the morning - Have a nice lunch from Bakehouse (seriously, we go there every Saturday like clockwork) - Church at 4pm - Find a family at church that wants to get dinner after or come over.

@James Averis I highly suggest making themes for yourself for next week. See how it goes. It some days don’t work out right, adjust it for the following week. Start with the premise: what do I want to make sure gets accomplished each week. Your top 3-5 priorities each week should determine what your daily themes are.
