Question Of The Week
Most agency owners I talk to can point to exactly what's holding them back. They know the bottleneck. or they at least suspect what the issue is with them. They can describe it in detail. And yet six months later, nothing has changed. That's not an execution problem, that's something else entirely, a mindset issue. Sometimes it's a hiring decision that keeps getting delayed because the timing never feels quite right. Sometimes it's a service offering that needs to be cut but there's a client attached to it. Sometimes it's a pricing conversation you've been avoiding because you're not sure the market will hold. Sometimes it is just not knowing what you don't know leading to paralysis. Sometimes it is fear of failure, success, looking stupid, not having experience or some other "head trash". It's something you already know needs to change but hasn't. We spend a lot of time in this community talking about growth strategies and acquisition and delivery systems. But we don't talk enough about the specific, uncomfortable things that are quietly capping us. So here's this week's question: What is the one thing you already know is holding your agency back right now and if you're honest with yourself, what's the real reason you haven't addressed it yet? Drop it below. No judgment. The more specific you are, the more useful this thread becomes for everyone. If you let us know what the hold up is we can help address it. Maybe do a section with videos to help you work these types of issues.

My all time issue, prospecting, outreach, I'm killing it in fullfillment in Ads but can't get prospecting for myself. I get stuck in analysis and paralysis mode a lot. My current agency/employers is draining me.

Determination Vs. Motivation
Here's something worth sitting with as you head into this week. Motivation is unreliable. It shows up when things are exciting and disappears when things get hard, repetitive, or uncomfortable. If you've been waiting to feel motivated before you make that outreach call, finish the proposal, or have the difficult conversation with an underperforming client, you're not managing your agency, you're managing your mood. Determination is different. It doesn't care how you feel on a Tuesday afternoon when your pipeline is dry and a client just emailed to say they're pausing their retainer. Determination is the decision you made before Monday started, the one that says this gets done regardless of what comes up. Most agency owners who plateau aren't lacking ideas or even skill. They're building a business on the back of motivation, which means they're only operating at full capacity when conditions are favorable. That's not an agency. That's a freelancer with a logo. The ones who scale past that threshold, who actually build something that runs without them needing to feel inspired every morning, they've made a shift. They stopped asking "Do I feel like doing this?" and started asking "Does this need to get done?" That's a small cognitive shift with a massive operational difference. This week, pick one thing you've been procrastinating on because it feels uncomfortable or unclear. Not ten things. One. And do it before you do anything else on Monday. Make it the first action, not the last resort.
