What’s harder for you, starting or revising?
I’ve been thinking about this lately and I’m genuinely curious where everyone falls. Is it the blank page that feels intimidating? That moment when you have the idea but you still have to turn it into actual words? Or is it revision that stretches you more? Cutting scenes you worked hard on. Restructuring chapters. Tightening sentences until they finally say what you meant all along. For me, revision is often where the real magic happens. It’s where the story sharpens and deepens. But it’s also where doubt tends to sneak in and start asking uncomfortable questions. What stage of writing is stretching you the most right now?
