Sharpening the Craft
Good writing improves in the rewriting. Taking time to refine structure, clarity, and flow makes all the difference. Skill grows through practice and thoughtful editing. Which area of your writing are you currently working to improve?

All of it. However, because of your question causing me to give all of my writing a rethink, I realize that I have spent too much time on editing and neglected the creating side of writing. I am inspired to revisit some of my incomplete projects and try to finish at least one of them. Thank you, @Naomi Inks
New Instructional Video
I put a new instructional video on the About page. It is about openings to a story and discusses the openings of some pretty well known stories. Let me know if you got something from it and if you have any follow-up questions or comments. I'm interested to know if you agree or disagree with anything I say in the video, or about the video itself and how it comes across.

Finding Your Personal Writing Rhythm
There is no single right way to write, but there is a right way for you. Some writers thrive with detailed outlines, while others discover their story as they go. The key is understanding your process and refining it so it works for your goals rather than against them. Are you more of a planner or a discovery writer, and how has that shaped your results?

Actually, I've done both and both have worked relatively well but I find that allowing the story to unfold itself is best because it allows the story to develop naturally. Having an outline is recommended but not as a set in stone resource because, like a forensic reconstruction from skeletal remains slowly comes to form, you will slowly see what the story really looks like when it has muscle and skin and hair and eyeballs. When I started my first book "The Triadon Prophecy", I had no idea that there was even a prophecy, let alone a Triadon. They just came to life as the story progressed from when we first see Creston kneeling there on the trail in search of what would unfold to be the murderer of his fiance. I'll just let you know, spoiler alert, you find out early on that the murderer was his best friend. From there every twist and turn just sort of happened.
Is what you know, the limit to your writing ability?
While it is often said that you should write about what you know, or like, would you go outside your comfort zone to write something you knew nothing about? What if you could put some of what you know into it? Would you do it for the love of writing or pass up the challenge? What if there was a possible payment or prize involved?
What's your desired outcome?
The meet and greet today was a small success. No one showed up but that is alright by me. I am not disappointed. I got the experience of preparing for it and now I know how to do it as well as how easy it is for members to get in, barring time constraints that is. There was a link right on the community tab that will let you join. I hope that the next one will be better attended because I am looking forward to communing with the community. I want to get to know you all better and be the best leader of this group as I can by building those relationships. I was hoping to get some input from the community as to what you want to see happen in "The Write Way" community. I can have ideas but I also know you will have some too. I value your opinion and truly believe that together we can make this a useful, fun, and productive community were members know they are valued and can get and give value as a group. Do you like the idea of writing a real story as a group? Do you like the idea of a writing competition that you can invite your friends and fellow writers to join the community with and also participate in. Would real prizes be an option, and, if so, what prizes would you consider a prize worth participation. I think it would be great to have a poem, or short story competition to inspire us. Finally, please let me know what you expect from this community?
