An update to our symbol and another take on it
I added a left/right taijitu aspect to our brain symbol. It seemed an appropriate way to describe all of us as more "here-and-now" left brain or "let's-make-a-plan" right brain. I am just not so sure it still looks like a brain! Please let me know what you think!
Any relation between Preta and the fate of the giants from the Book of Enoch?
At about 54 minutes into this video on the Book of Enoch, and the giants seems like a Jewish equivalent to Preta (hungry ghosts). They start out as giant beings with relentless hunger and then end up becoming evil spirits that are forced to roam the earth because they cannot die like their human mothers.

A very cool topic, worthy of discussion at our Salon right now in fact! It is possible that in the post Alexander world, that there was an historical connection between these hungry beings. The usual difference in cosmogony though: Buddhist ones do not involve God, only individual karma. Also, the pretas of Buddhism are more a psychological state, but then, maybe both traditions just recognize that greed becomes monstrous, I am not sure!

I have to say, the Book of Enoch is a great series, and that Book I see as part of the Gnostic heritage of the West, which I am fairly sure does maintain ties to Buddhism. St. Clement debated Buddhists in Alexandria and Greek Buddhist Dharmaraksita debated other Greek philosophers.

A provisional mission statement, new Salon meeting times, and two new welcomes!
Welcome to new members Mary and Akins! Also, please note that we have added now a Salon East and Salon West to make meeting more convenient for our global membership. So, in my dialogs with Chatty, my AI research Assistant, our dialog results in new and better syntheses I find. Personally, I am happy to hybridize my intelligence with theirs, but maybe that is a controversy for OpenSourcery, I am not sure...you let me know please! I hope you all have a great weekend and hope to see you at one of our two Salon meetings. I will love feedback on this mission statement with the image Chatty made.

@Akins Samson That is very kind of you Akins! A bit busy right now in fact. I am in Thailand and it is late! For me though, I am happy to limit it to my YouTube videos generating traffic to our Skool site. I am not motivated by money, just the mission. So please show up at our Salon! WE can also dialogue here in the chat.

@Akins Samson Thank you Akins! Yes, the Worldview Builder is a program for Chat GPT perferably or Claude, and it is free! It is great mirror for your own true worldview. Hope to discuss it at a Salon Sunday!
A change in Salon meeting times
I am opening an Eastern hemisphere (Eurasia/Africa) meeting from 10 AM GMT while returning to the old 9 PM ET (1 AM GMT) for the Western hemisphere. So, I hope to see you there! James
