This is a question that comes up a lot, especially when you’re just starting out. Most people assume Instagram is the answer. It’s visual, it’s popular, and it feels like the place to build. And it works, but it works differently. Instagram is a discovery platform. It helps people find you, but it usually takes time. People follow, watch your content, and may take weeks before they decide to buy. WhatsApp works differently. It’s built on existing relationships. The people in your contacts already know you, and it’s easier to start conversations and get quicker responses. So it’s not really about which one is better. It’s about where you are right now. If you already have people around you who could use your service; friends, colleagues, community, whatsApp is a strong place to start. If your audience isn’t in your immediate circle, or you need to reach new people, then Instagram becomes important. The mistake is trying to do everything at once without being clear on your starting point. Start with the platform that gives you the easiest access to your first clients. Then build from there. Right now, where is your audience easier to reach, WhatsApp or Instagram? 👇🏽

Most mompreneurs feel like they need to grow an instagram page before they can start getting clients, so they spend time trying to fixing their feed and still not making any money. But the reality is, your first clients are more likely to come from people who already know you or from spaces where people are actively looking for help. A great space is our facebook groups😀. There are groups for every city, neighbourhood, and interest, and people are constantly asking for recommendations. Someone is looking for a caterer, someone needs a virtual assistant, someone is asking for a service you can already provide. These are not cold leads, these are people already looking to pay for help. This week, your task is simple. Find three Facebook groups that are relevant to your location or your niche and request to join them. Look for local community groups, mums groups, buy and sell groups, or anything where your ideal customer is likely to be. You don’t need to post yet, just get inside the room first. Once you’ve joined, come back and drop the name of at least one group here ❤️.
