Quick Update
Sabrina and I will be working on putting lists together for vets per state and farriers per state. We will update it periodically. If you have vets you want on the list or that you can vouch for, please comment here. I will also be opening another section in the library for medications and doses as well as poisons. Growing is happening! Except when its my a$$. 😆

Poll
If a person runs a rescue or sanctuary, should they be open to bi-annual inspection from a person or organization they adopted a pig from already?

Obviously no experience yet - but when ours is up and running, I hope for check-ins at least once a year. I feel one could become so easily blinded by all that’s on their plate because they just go through the motions of day to day rescue and “survive it”. They may not even realize they’re tip-toeing into dangerous territory before it’s too late. And when it’s too late, are they too embarrassed or too prideful to ask for help? I think check-ins benefit everyone, especially the pigs!!
Adopted pig and original family
When we adopted Izzy in October of 2025, we had told her family that they were welcome to come and visit her any time. Their daughter’s are finishing up their college semesters at the beginning of May.. so their first visit to see Izzy is going to be mid-May. Is there anything we should prepare for once the weekend is over and she is “left” with us again? Will this be hard on her? Izzy is not a very affectionate pig and has only allowed us to give her belly rubs twice since we’ve had her. She’ll talk to us and rub her head on us but that is as much physical love as she gives us (which is fine 😊). I’m just nervous if them visiting will be starting the process over of us having to win her love back again or if she may just be sad but know our home is her home now? Thank you all for any feedback or advice with this!

More gets added to the library (Classroom section) weekly. If there is a topic you need addressed immediately, message me or post here. This is a safe space. Everyone here is in a different part of their pig journey and are so kind and helpful! Next Sunday we have our monthly coffee chat. Its on the calendar. You will also notice the countdown above. So, share whatever you are comfortable sharing and post any questions. Piggy pictures are always well received!!

@Michelle Youngman oh my gosh!! I can’t wait to see the video!! I love watching all the things these smart babies learn! Carol has talking buttons for a few snacks and “water please” because she has lost water bowl privileges in our kitchen 🤣

@Sara Guzman awwwww he’s so happy to have his sister 🥹😭💕 they’re absolutely adorable! @Michelle Youngman it’s so funny how some are obsessed with drinking water and others hate it! I’m glad he liked his “treats” 😝🧊
