I’m speaking at Sustainable Success Summit. About Growing Fast. Yes, Really!
the sustainable success summit starts today: Oct 19–23 and I’m one of the 100+ speakers my session: Why & How to Grow Your Community Fast (below). I know. a summit about success that doesn’t wreck you, and I turn up telling people to go fast. but stay with me. in my 20 minutes, i share: - why your first 100 members are the most expensive ones you’ll ever get, and why going slow makes them cost more, not less (there’s a Moana gif) - why your business needs seasons, and why fast should be one season, not the whole time - the four ways to grow fast, what each one really costs, and how to pick your key lever depending on whether you’ve got more money, time or energy if you’re in here, you’re probably somewhere in the sprint to your first 100. this is that, in 20 minutes. the rest of the summit: - live sessions, roundtables and recorded talks on business, burnout, skool, AI, money and mindset. - it's okay not to watch all 100 speakers. pick two or three that fit what you’re working on and what could help you RIGHT NOW. - it’s free and it lives inside Leadership Skool (it’s my affiliate link. costs you nothing extra) ⬇️ watched mine? tell me your key lever for growth

Is Growth Boost a Distraction? | the Axe Verdict
the major part of yesterday's Skool news was on Growth Boost (sigh). so, i am not going to share a summary - if you are interested in what they are saying, check the recording in the Vault here. === i am still here to give the Axe Verdict. but let's hear from other Skoolers first. very respected one. here is someone, who has been on Skool for a while / been successful: "My latest growth boost observations...Idk about the rest of you, but I wish they had never started it at this point. I haven’t watched today’s Skool News to hear the latest, but I feel over the whole experiment...I have gone up and down on it several times, but it really does feel like a huge distraction." and then this comment, from someone who is really successful and many of you know: "It's built for the few and it will benefit the few. For the rest of us, it's just a distraction." finally, the last drop, yesterday i invited someone to speak at the Community Clinic 2.0 - more on this to come. she was not a member here. and while we were talking over DMs, she joined from the profile. big mistake , i know - just kidding, it is not on her. but now, i have to pay Skool 50% from $9. well, i can survive that. but still not fair. === what do i think? i think, they are trying to help Skoolers - in their minds. i think, here is what they could have done instead: - introduce efficiency score transparency, so community owners can see how effective they are + share advice/suggestion on what to focus on. - introduce "Deep research" feature to help community owners improve what they are doing. - and whatever else they are doing to improve Growth Boost -- offer it to us as extra paid service. all those features could be at extra cost per month. i would pay for it. for sure. instead, right now: - ppl going paid, when it does not make any sense. - we have to trust/gamble to get results without any visibility of what is going on. - we are blackmailed into using Growth Boost or we loose features we thought are inherent

@Lidia Axe I've zoned out from all the GB stuff. I just don't feel like it's for me, even though I'm against using social to drive traffic to my skool so I guess I'd be their ideal candidate. It's just too complicated. I'd rather get warm traffic from the summits and bundles I participate in. I also think they're too greedy on the commissions.

@Lidia Axe I didn't realise they shut people down for disagreements... eeek.
🎥 Scent of a Woman. Movie Night.
missed it yesterday. but even more reasons to share this one today. cause we - me & my hubby - are celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary today & (the drum roll) the theme of the wedding was Oscar nominations. and our first dance was a tango from Scent of a Woman movie. we even took 3-4 dancing lessons to perform that, properly. now, the movie. i mean, yes, it is an old one. 1992. but, Al Pacino, getting Oscar, for his role - you can't argue that?! why i like it? apart from it was my wedding dance... - life brings us people, weird ppl - even if for a weekend - who we can learn from - life gives us cross-roads and it's up to us to make the decision, it might change the trajectory - so, don't dismiss those - be yourself, be passionate, love what you have and act on it if you decide to watch, ask yourself these questions to turn this into “therapy/coaching session”: - are you too focused on problems/disadvantages you have vs your strengths? - what opportunities are you dismissing right now? - are you making everything out of what you have? - is there a mentor you are dismissing? - anything else comes to your mind while you watch this movie? give us some love & tell me if you are going to watch this ⬇️

Oh I love that film - the 'ha' grunt Pacino uses in the film became a phrase in my family household for a while! And the Ferrari scene! So good. Lovely wedding pic - such happiness and joy. Congrats! Just remembering his character's attention to detail too....

Failure Wednesday Celebration!
everyone celebrates wins. it's good. but there is something better - celebrating failures. Failure Celebration has been a tradition in Community Income Mastermind since the beginning. so, i want to introduce it here. why celebrate failure, you might ask? first, let's define failure. failure (in my playbook) = something you did (ACTION), and it did not bring you the result you'd expected. here are few examples: - you ran ads, the costs are too high or not as many ppl as you've expected joined - you hosted a live event, nobody came (or just a few people) - you made a post, nobody (few) commented / reacted to it - you launched a paid offer, nobody (few) bought it you get the idea. it has to be something you have ACTUALLY tried - you did the effort, but you did not get results or the results were not what you'd expected. now, the key part - why celebrate? Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx (my spirit animal), says it best. in short, unless we try these new, unfamiliar, risky things - we are not going to get ANY fun, big, any results. so, let's start the tradition and share our failures for the past week ⬇️

Gah, I've just come off an hour's call where nobody turned up. It was on the back of a successful summit appearance last week where 41 people listened to me live, we got a further 63 added names to our email list and 20 new community members. I emailed twice about this and posted and pinned in my Skool. I offered help with the freebie I'd given away. I guess we need to be realistic about the liklihood people are online at that time and are motivated enough to come. Hey, it didn't cost me anything because I was able to continue to work but it's demoralising when you spend time doing some comms about it. I won't give up but need to think about the 'why' and try to be objective about it.

@Lidia Axe Thanks for the openness. That makes me feel better because your group is much bigger than mine! I'm going to still give 'lives' a go but I think a dose of realism is useful as even massive groups are only likely to get a handful of people 1)interested, 2) available and 3) motivated to join. Oh, and maybe brave. I'm pondering doing more short 1-2 min videos on my community feed as small lessons. Then people can consume them when they need to. We do host a fortnightly half hour slot for all members to just hang out with us and they are relatively well attended (1-2 people!). Small acorns!
