Skool live
So I keep saying that I don’t want to have a group for my consulting practice, but Skool keeps adding features that make it so tempting. They now have a Skool Live function that acts like zoom or Google meet so you can host a call anytime (scheduled on group calendar or spur of the moment) and anyone present in the group can join. It’s included in both the pro and hobby level. They talk about it here. https://youtu.be/FJ_mRbip3rA?si=1-07o7kxtcOEDenZ They don’t yet have a more traditional webinar feature (and honestly that may be the thing that tips the boat for me). I’d also have to see if I can create a workaround for my Zoom calls which are connected to my scheduler, but if this were solved, I’d probably pull the trigger on starting a group. Anyone else persuaded?

@Benjamin Hayes recorded, not yet repurposed. Right now my main question is - how can I make this easy? And I can absolutely see how going straight to YouTube would simplify your process. I’m not sure why I always want to complicate things. 😉

@Benjamin Hayes I haven’t opened them up as I’m not looking for new clients at the moment. 2025 has been about scaling down, doing less, & making it easy. And I can see where it would be a good way to connect to new or slightly warm audiences. Something to consider.
Why did you join this group?
What were you working on? Did you finish it? If not, what is the next step you need to take?

@Abigail Jackson Daniels I think some of this has to do with my learning style - I keep researching/asking until I get to the “no” stage. I learned some about packaging and a lot about using your strengths to create and some about not making the delivery such a big deal (for example, thumbnail graphics for classroom, the way she just shares recorded webinars, but also how she is decisive and in the moment with them). She leans into her ability to synthesize information and future cast to teach which I really connect with. And she can appear quite chaotic from the outside as her focus changes frequently, which is also something I struggle with. How about you?

@Abigail Jackson Daniels yes. And I think that here she may have again been a bit ahead of the trend as more and more people are looking for less slick, more “authentic” presentations. The key is: do you get value?
Is this group inactive?
Hi 👋 I am new, was just let in today. After looking around I am stunned to see so few active people here...👀 Including the MIA moderator who let me in.😅 If anyone is active let's please connect in the group so that we can help each other level up & unlock the courses in the classroom. đŸ€

@Dg Donaldson I have to say that it wasn’t difficult at the beginning. And yes, if you feel this community isn’t going to give you what you need, why waste your time. And I also wonder if it isn’t possible to ignore the noise and find a community within the community that will give you what you need to unlock the content you are seeking. And if you decide to stay and I can help, please let me know. Good luck!

@Tammy McCroary a lot of it was for the joy of learning. I realized that the way I get clients is through referrals and at the moment I don’t want (or need) an offer stack or much automation. But it’s nice to understand the process if I change my mind.
Skool “Hobby” pricing $9/mo
For everyone who has wanted to start a group but have been put off by the price - Skool now is offering a $9/month Hobby price group. I had moved away from starting a community for my consulting clients (mostly because of the management side), but now am considering it again. How about yall? Anyone considering starting a “hobby” community?

@Éva Raposa no. I actually decided not to have a community at the moment. I realized that even though it is something I think my clients would like, every time I started to plan around it I kept thinking of how soon I could pass it to someone else to manage. I did not want to do it myself and right now I’m not interested in building someone new and hiring just for a community. I did not want to ghost my group.

@Torbjörn Strand that’s ambitious! How will you decide which to keep or how long to keep trying before you kill the non-performing one(s)?
A little help needed.... please?
Hi beautiful comunity! My name is Cristina and I'm a very passionate psychotherapist from Italy, so so tired to sell my time 1:1! I dont know where to start building... any suggestion would be so appreciate it! I want of course create passive income products, increase my email list, find my champagne clients (kind of struggling on this one) and get clear on my funnel.... I'm a bit overwelmed and afraid to loose energy without a road map,,,,

I can relate to the overwhelm! For me it really helps to “map out” my business on paper. Draw how clients come to me, how I deliver services, and how they continue or end. Then I ask myself - what is the problem I really want to solve first? You say you are tired of 1-1. This could be: I work too many hours at 1-1 I don’t make enough money It’s too difficult to get new clients I could have more clients but I don’t have enough time to treat them all I’m tired of 1-1 work I’m just tired When you have more information about the problem you actually want to solve, then you can begin to look for solutions. If it’s not enough money, maybe it’s raising your prices or offering packages with prepayment. If it’s not enough time, maybe it’s offering shorter sessions with text check ins or “homework” that clients can do to prepare for their sessions. If you’re just bored with 1-1, maybe you can explore group offerings. And if you’re just tired, maybe doing the coursework available here will give you energy (if you love learning new things) but maybe this isn’t the time to change your business but take some time to care for yourself and fill your own energy well before you make big changes. There are so many possible solutions, but the key to all this is to start with exactly which problem you’d like to tackle.
