I’m back!
Hello, EWA Community. It’s been a while but I’m finally back. In this era of AI, it is more important than ever to develop writing skills for creativity and innovation. I am fond of AI but my pride does not allow me to use outsource my thinking and content creation to a valuable tool like AI. Shani and his community will help me a great deal in becoming the Professional Writer (and perhaps by extension, an Insightful Reader because Writing and Reading go hand-in-hand) that I dream of becoming. I look forward to connecting with you all. 😊

Questions On AI?
If anybody has questions about writing with AI, feel free to ask here or message me directly. I will address them in due course. As my book on the subject nears completion, I am excited about sharing all that I’ve learned. :)

When writing with AI, there are prompts online about ALL highlight the importance of being specific, provide context, and assign a role to the AI. My question is, would it be ideal to stick to ONE AI tool such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for creative writing? In addition, to what extent is it enough for me to use AI so that I can maintain my originality? I’m worried that even brainstorming, outlining, and proofreading with AI might cause me to lose my originality in creative writing, and I’m confident in my creative and innovation skills to let AI draft for me.

Next Live Class With a First-Time Author
I’m so excited about our next live class! @Brett Gardner recently published his first book, the subject of which is Warren Buffet’s early investments. He wasn’t a writer by profession, so after winning a publishing deal, he hired me as a coach to help get the book into shape. I had a great time working with Brett, who absorbed the lessons brilliantly and quickly proved himself to have an enormous latent writing talent. Together, we’ll explore the joys and challenges of writing and publishing one’s first book. I’ll let you know once we’ve firmed up the date!

Where’s the Ambiguity?
Here’s a tough one for the more adventurous among you. Explain why this sentence is potentially ambiguous, and then attempt to fix it: “I don’t agree with Alex 90 percent of the time.” Answers below.

Grammatically, I think it should be, “I don’t agree with Alex often.” This is because saying don’t agree with someone 90% of the time is unspecific to the ears of listeners. Do you disagree with that person because that person has terrible ideas? Or is it because of personal issues with that person? The more specific you can be, the more certain your listeners can be. Clarity is the first element of effective communication.
