I had a few bidding issues last night, but overall the stream worked fairly well technically. I think the bigger challenge is that eBay Live still doesn’t seem to have the same established customer base as Whatnot yet. Hopefully that improves going into Q4 as more buyers discover it and eBay pushes the platform harder.
Summer sales
Morning all. Happy Monday. Just interested to hear of others experience of this summer slowdown in sales. Watching other resellers YouTube videos it's mentioned a lot and I've definitely experienced it in July. Going from my best month so far in June to an OK month last month I'd be interested how others navigate this. Might be that I've just grown my stock holding at a bad time but it felt like I put a lot of effort in to boost my stock, similar items to what had already been selling well etc and then for sales to dip a fair bit was worrying until I saw the YouTube resellers talking about the same thing. What do you guys do? Do you change your approach for the summer months? More promos? Reduce prices etc to get cash flowing or just ride it out? Does it align with the school summer holidays? Less disposable income etc? Thanks all.

I think it depends heavily on the size of the business and the type of stock you sell. Some categories are much more consistent throughout the year. Hiking trousers, hoodies and jeans tend to sell steadily for me regardless of the season. I usually buy a batch of swimwear ahead of summer, which normally performs well, but I wouldn’t completely change my buying strategy just because July is quieter. I’d focus on maintaining cash flow with selective promotions and sensible price reductions rather than heavily discounting everything. Seasonal slowdowns happen, because apparently customers also insist on going outside occasionally.
Hi all
Hi everyone, I’m Mohammed from Cloud Superstore 👋 I’ve been selling on eBay for around 5–6 years and reluctantly gave eBay Live a try in May 2026. I’m now trying to make a proper go of it. I still have plenty to learn, but hopefully a few useful things to share too. I joined because I want to be more active in a community of like-minded resellers.

Thanks Simon, really appreciate it. The call we had before I started eBay Live helped me massively and gave me a much clearer idea of what to expect. I’ve now done quite a few shows and it’s definitely changing the direction of my business. Still plenty to learn, but I’m enjoying it and trying to make a proper go of it before the eBay fees kick in and remind me who really owns the business 😂

Excited to be part of this group
Hi everyone, I'm Rob. I've bought and sold on and off over the years. My first business was at 16, selling mobile phone covers on a market stall back in the Nokia 3210 days (showing my age!). I've also bought dead stock on eBay over the years, and I used to be a cameraman at Sit Up TV (Bid Up TV/Price Drop), if anyone remembers those channels, so I've seen the live-selling world from the other side too. These days I run my own business full-time and I'm looking to grow my reselling business alongside it. I got back from Cheddar Car Boot this morning and thought it was a good time to join the community. Looking forward to learning from everyone and hopefully contributing where I can!

Hi Rob, interesting background. How have you found reselling compared with the other businesses you’ve run? Do you see it as a more viable long-term business, or something that works better alongside your main business?
Recommendations please
Can anyone advise who you use for posters for ebay live or socials that is easy to use as need to improve mine Any recommendations ? thanks Sarah

Hi Ideogram is pretty good if you want to design something unique such as a logo.. Chatgpt is good as per the previous messages but it's a bit too wordy when it comes to posters I find Gemini has a good balance. Happy to share an example of what I mean
