Summer sales
Morning all. Happy Monday. Just interested to hear of others experience of this summer slowdown in sales. Watching other resellers YouTube videos it's mentioned a lot and I've definitely experienced it in July. Going from my best month so far in June to an OK month last month I'd be interested how others navigate this. Might be that I've just grown my stock holding at a bad time but it felt like I put a lot of effort in to boost my stock, similar items to what had already been selling well etc and then for sales to dip a fair bit was worrying until I saw the YouTube resellers talking about the same thing. What do you guys do? Do you change your approach for the summer months? More promos? Reduce prices etc to get cash flowing or just ride it out? Does it align with the school summer holidays? Less disposable income etc? Thanks all.

@Simon Smith thanks Simon. I will try and make the Q&As but as I'm still working full-time it's quite awkward timing for me. If and when I can, I will join.

@Pamela Powell I've definitely found that Vinted has gone quiet for me. I've kept up the listing across both but eBay is miles ahead for me at the moment. eBay even seems to have picked up for me with clothing as well which is unusual, Vinted is normally way ahead.
🎙️ ADHD & Autism: Running a Reselling Business
🚀 NEW PODCAST OUT NOW! 🎙️ This week's podcast is a little different from our usual episodes... but it's one that means a lot to me and @Simon Smith . A huge thank you to Andrew & @Olma Olma for trusting us with their story and being so open and honest throughout the conversation. It takes a lot to talk so candidly about something so personal. Whether you have ADHD or Autism yourself, know someone who does, or simply want to better understand how differently people's minds can work, we really hope this episode gives you something to take away. 🙏 One thing I took from this conversation is that it's okay to be different. Understanding yourself and leaning into your strengths can make all the difference. If you do give it a watch, we'd really appreciate it if you could leave a comment on the YouTube video as well. It genuinely helps us reach more people with conversations like this, and we'd love to hear what resonated with you. 💙 Thank you all for being part of such a supportive community. We hope you enjoy it. 🙌

Really interesting one today and a bit different. Thanks for sharing. These podcasts have been my background listening on Mondays whilst working my day job.
Hello!
Hi all. Just joined the group. Been watching/listening to the podcast for a while now. Started reselling in Jan this year and it's been going well. Slowly building things up around a full time job and 4 year old twins. Currently selling a bit of everything and enjoying it. Hope to speak to a few of you as time goes on.

@James Bolding Good Morning, James.
Excited to be part of this group
Hi everyone, I'm Rob. I've bought and sold on and off over the years. My first business was at 16, selling mobile phone covers on a market stall back in the Nokia 3210 days (showing my age!). I've also bought dead stock on eBay over the years, and I used to be a cameraman at Sit Up TV (Bid Up TV/Price Drop), if anyone remembers those channels, so I've seen the live-selling world from the other side too. These days I run my own business full-time and I'm looking to grow my reselling business alongside it. I got back from Cheddar Car Boot this morning and thought it was a good time to join the community. Looking forward to learning from everyone and hopefully contributing where I can!

Hi Rob. Looks like we aren't too far apart. What's Cheddar boot sale like? Worth a trip out from Frome?

@Rob Cox Cheddar definitely sounds worth the trip then. I will absolutely let you know when I make it over. There is a decent one in Frome (Standerwick car boot) that's open all year round as they have cover if the weather isn't great. Found some great stuff there. This afternoon I found a new one in Marksbury that I hadn't been to before. Started at 1pm and it was heaving but you definitely need to be there for the start. The Saturday car boot sounds good. August limits me to Sundays mainly unless I can get out and back before 9.
3:54am Car Boot double shift 😅
Hopefully there’s plenty of clobber waiting to be picked up this morning 💪 Let’s have it! @James Bolding

@Luke Warder actually found a 1pm start bootsale not far from me and took the kids. Had the standard toy tax but got a few decent bits as well so definitely worth the trip out.
