It’s no secret to us Christians that, throughout the Bible, God has performed many miracles we, as humans, can’t logically comprehend. He’s done stuff like splitting the Red Sea, feeding around 5,000 with just five loaves and two fish, using a shepherd boy with a sling and a stone to kill a 9-foot giant, resurrecting countless individuals, including His Son Jesus, and many more. Our GOD is a man who could literally do the impossible if we are willing to treat Him with the reverence and respect He deserves. As I look at these miracles, I’ve noticed a recurring pattern that’s the main focus of today’s message: GOD often uses anything and anyone that seems mundane to do extraordinary things. The life of Jesus is a very good example of this since, to the eyes of the citizens of Nazareth at the time, He was not seen as the SON of God, but as a blasphemer, “just a carpenter” in the eyes of His people. These people didn’t know that —the person they’re jeering and laughing at— would be the one person they have to turn to if they ever want to go to heaven. The same way that God managed to take ordinaries in the Bible and turn them into the figures we talk about today is the exact same thing God is doing in someone’s life right now. You might feel like everything in your life is falling apart, taking a turn for the worse, but it’s actually taking a turn for the better. You might feel like that giant spark of light that was once in you is slowly becoming small, but as Jesus said in Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” This is why we have to keep seeking God before ANYTHING, because nothing and no one on this earth is as capable of filling that hole in your soul as the word of GOD is.
