Very deep but so nicely put!
Strength before Weightloss
Right — quick heads up from the gym floor: strength training just overtook weight loss as the top gym goal. A 2026 Life Time wellness survey found 42.3% of people now prioritise getting physically stronger over dropping kilos — partly because GLP‑1 drugs have shifted how folks approach shape and health (source: https://creators.yahoo.com/lifestyle/story/glp-1s-are-helping-strength-training-replace-weight-loss-as-the-top-goal-at-the-gym-002912020.html ). Feels about right to me. As dads we don’t just want to look different — we want to move better, stay mobile for our kids, and have the resilience to get through busy days and nights. Strength isn’t vanity here; it’s being able to lift the buggy, wrestle with the little one without fear, and get up stairs without groaning. It’s also about recovery — sleep, nutrition and sensible programming so the body keeps up with family life. If GLP‑1s are helping some people with body composition, that’s fine — but strength should sit alongside it. Simple progressive loading, mobility work, and a focus on recovery will give you longer-term wins. What’s your priority at the moment: strength, weight, mobility, or just fitting in any workout at all? Vote below or drop how you’re training this week.

I have gone for strength but to be honest I would have gone for all 3. Since being off the scaffolding spanners and been office base for the last 15 years. I have lost my natural strength. Gained 2 stone of fat but also being very mindful that I am 52 this year and want to be more mobile and flexible for when I get older again. I am very mindful of mobility with age. Especially looking at both my parents that are retired
Progress? Bupa X Movember
Heads up — this one landed like a punch in the chest for me. A new Bupa x Movember push is training clinicians in the UK to keep more men engaged in therapy — because right now around 45% of men drop out before finishing treatment. Read it here: https://www.bupa.com/news-and-press/press-releases/2026/bupa-and-movember-launch-global-initiative As dads we juggle work, nappies, homework, and the quiet panic of “I’ll sort this myself.” That mindset’s why stopping therapy early isn’t just a stat — it’s real lives and real families. Bupa says demand for men’s mental health services has shot up 280% since 2025, and in the UK 82% of men aged 40–54 who died by suicide had contact with primary care. Those numbers are ugly but they’re not unavoidable. Training clinicians to understand how men communicate, how we avoid asking for help, and how to build trust over time could change outcomes. But it still takes us showing up and being honest about what we need. Have you ever started therapy and thought about quitting? Vote in the poll or share a sentence about what helped you stay (or what made you leave ). Which would you pick?

Never tried it. Would I? Not sure? I guess I am lucky as I never thought I needed it I guess . I have a great relationship with my wife that we can both talk open with each other about anything. No secrets. Just an open book . It works for me.
Which training programme would you choose?
Brothers - I am creating two different training programmes which will both be available on different mobile apps... 1. 'Simple Size & Strength (S3)'. This is a simple, time efficient, 4x/week training programme specifically built to build muscle size and strength. It consists of 4 sessions per week which last no longer than 40 minutes, and focusses on supersetting compound (multi-joint) movements. Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just simple size and strength. 2. 'The StrongDad Blueprint'. This is THE foundation to build a body that is strong, fit, and resilient. It consists of strength, muscle, speed, endurance, balance, and endurance. It is a 6-days per week training programme which is 4 gym sessions, 1 VO2 max session, 1 endurance session, 2 mobility sessions. Two different sessions with different time depends and intended results. Which one is for you? Both will be available through the Premium membership of StrongDads, where you'll also get more resources and weekly group coaching calls.
