keywords which shadowban channels?
is there a list which is not allowed on yt ? I want to focus my next series about death/dying/suicides and mortality in general but Im aware of algorithms like on tik tok you can't talk about genocide, Palestine, ethnic cleansing etc Those words are blocking your visibility how to approach it

Mortality mentoring / death related niche
I want to bring my real-life work around mortality and end-of-life reflections to YouTube, but I’m unsure about the platform rules. Do words like “death,” “dying,” or “end of life” get flagged or limited in reach?👉 Are there legal/safety guidelines that could cause my content to be removed if it’s misunderstood (e.g. as encouraging self-harm)? Before I invest 6 months into this, I’d love to hear your experience—especially if you’ve worked with sensitive topics online. I agree that it can be draining topic for me to make it sustainable as its emotionally heavy what perspective, blind spot do I miss to take it towards direction uplifting is it a reason why most creators go towards love and light ? yes I run it through ai and had great conversation but keen to listen to your opinion, did you have another niche which was not working for you because of yt algorithms ? in comment i'll post for educational purposes what my mortality mentor gpts said about it

🔹 1. YouTube Guidelines & “Shadowbanning” - Death-related words are not banned. You can say “death,” “dying,” “end of life,” etc. in your titles and videos. There are many channels (e.g., hospice educators, grief workers, historians, philosophers) that openly use those terms. - But monetization can be tricky. YouTube’s ad system sometimes flags sensitive words (suicide, murder, graphic death descriptions) as “limited ads.” This doesn’t make the video invisible—it just affects whether advertisers want to run ads on it. - Shadowbanning is mostly a myth. What does happen: the algorithm may downrank sensitive content (less recommended), but it’s not a hard ban. The main thing that hurts reach is if people don’t click/watch, not the subject itself. - Best practice: Use clear, safe framing in your titles and descriptions. For example: 🔹 2. Legal & Safety Boundaries - YouTube prohibits “content that promotes or glorifies suicide, self-harm, or violence.” So if your content could be misinterpreted as encouraging people to end their lives, it risks removal. - 🔹 3. Why Big Figures Don’t Talk About It - You’re right: most mainstream creators avoid mortality content. It’s sensitive, advertisers prefer “lighter” topics, and it requires emotional maturity. - That actually gives you a unique niche advantage. People are hungry for voices that normalize mortality. The Coaching Blueprint you already have (from the doc) shows how to frame this powerfully: story-driven, spiritual, safe. 🔹 4. Practical Next Steps for You 1. Start with Story Titles: Frame around survival, awakening, or clarity (instead of directly “death” in every title). Example: 2. Use Content Warnings: If a video discusses suicide or graphic illness, add a disclaimer like:“This video is for reflection and support, not encouragement of harm. If you’re struggling, please seek help—resources are linked below.” 3. Check Analytics: Post a few videos and watch if they get flagged as “limited ads.” That will tell you what language is safe in your niche. 4. Balance Death + Life: Always bring the message back to living fully now. That positions you as uplifting, not depressing.
