There are mostly business owners here in Strategic Boardroom. How many of you have friends that do NOT own businesses (or have ideas of starting one) and just don't seem to understand you? 🙄
With those friends, I don’t bring business up very often, since we have other things to relate about. However, even some business owners still don’t understand because they run a vastly different business (owning an auto repair shop vs a coaching practice, for example). But still, some friends that don’t own businesses are supportive, regardless of their lack of understanding, so they ask questions to learn more about my world.
Do you have a New Year's Eve tradition? My bride and I always like to go out if we can, but since the arrival of our daughter 3 years ago, that's been shelved haha. How about you folks?
@Alicia Ortiz No tradition for me, it’s different every year. Last year I was on an air plane. Tonight, it’s dinner with some girlfriends and then a New Year’s party.
If you were to list some of your biggest struggles in business, what would some of them be? What do you wish you could change about business if you could wave a magic wand?
Prioritizing where my energy goes inside my business. I’m often torn between several directions, thinking "I could do this… or I could do that." Sometimes I follow what feels right, other times I try to juggle a few things at once instead of focusing on one thing and finishing it. In short… choosing the right priorities and sticking with them is my biggest struggle.
@Mark Dolfini The biggest shift for me was realizing it really does all start with personal vision. Once I got clearer on the kind of life I actually wanted, the business stuff felt way less chaotic and a lot more aligned. It stopped being “how do I hustle harder?” and turned into, “does this actually support the life I’m trying to build?
