Hello my name is Michelle, very new here and learning as much as I can to build a great community. I'm a mother of four boys and I'm a self taught baker and maker. I'm very trial and error, I'll keep going until I get good at it which for me has been paying off. I'm so glad to be here and any advice to get going is much appreciated.

Today is my birthday!
As I drove to the gym early this morning I could feel myself starting to cry. I don't normally make much of my birthday - but it really hit me - I am living the life of my dreams. When I started my business over 16 years ago I was a single mom with 5 kids who literally couldn't pay for groceries. I was determined to make things better - any sacrifice it would take. I have made so MANY mistakes, in business and in life. But I have done even more things right. I now am lucky to have a business where we serve amazing local business clients in their marketing needs - a community where we get to teach other moms how to grow their business - I have raised amazing kids who are now amazing adults and human beings - and I am fortunate enough that 3 of my kids work along side me in these crazy businesses. I have always said the life you love is fueled by the business you build - and today I felt the sting of the tears of joy realizing how all the risks had paid off. If this is 46 - I'll take it! But we aren't done yet. We aren't done until every mom who wants to build a business has access to the tools, training, and support they need to accomplish their goals (that is my mission). So celebrate with me today by taking the time to congratulate yourself for what you have accomplished. Drop a GIF below if you will celebrate you today! P.S. attaching the pic of what my daughter (my community manager) posted today. I truly am blessed! Now let's celebrate YOU!

@Stacy Oros
I was late this morning...
I am at the gym every morning at 5am (don't judge me that's just what works for me LOL). This morning I was late. At the gym there is what I like the call my 5am club. You see all of us are pretty tight - in other words there aren't that many of us. This morning, late and all as I made my way to the treadmill - one of my favorite bartenders, who happens to be part of the 5am club, starts pointing at his watch. Yeah, I know I said but it's my birthday week - do I get a pass? I hopped on the treadmill and started my run. Not long after I get a wave and a "hi Mandi" (only the 5am club are allowed to call me Mandi). I smiled waved back and continued my run. Why am I telling you this? As I was putting in my miles this morning it got me thinking how much my 5am club teaches me about community. They are always there to hold me accountable (let's face it sometimes it isn't easy to be there that early), give encouragement - a smile - a good morning - a hug - or even a high five. And every Friday after the workout gather in the lobby to eat donuts (yeah I know eating donuts in the gym lobby is a little ironic!). That is what I want for my community as well. Accountability, encouragement, and the ability to just "hang out" with one another. If we apply what we want in a community IRL to a community online I think it helps us foster true "community". What are your favorite ways to build the community feeling?
