Vagus Nerve Keeps You Asleep so Your Brain Can Glymphatically Cleanse
Sleep requires a precise shift from sympathetic activation to parasympathetic dominance, orchestrated by the vagus nerve. Low vagal tone causes a sluggish shift, leading to difficulty falling asleep, frequent waking, and poor sleep quality. Higher nighttime HRV correlates with more time in deep slow-wave sleep and REM sleep, where physical repair and memory consolidation occur. Sleep doctors use overnight HRV as a complementary marker to traditional sleep architecture. People with high vagal tone sleep less but feel more rested than those with low vagal tone, who spend more total hours in bed. During deep sleep, the vagus nerve increases its firing rate, slowing heart rate to its lowest resting point and reducing blood pressure. This parasympathetic dominance shifts resources to muscle growth, tissue regeneration, immune strengthening, and neural waste clearance via the glymphatic system. During REM sleep, vagal tone fluctuates dynamically, supporting the vivid dream state while maintaining physiological stability. Poor vagal function disrupts REM cycling, contributing to vivid nightmares, unrefreshing sleep, and daytime fatigue. The glymphatic system operates primarily during deep sleep. Inadequate parasympathetic dominance reduces glymphatic flow, causing inflammatory byproducts and metabolic waste to accumulate in brain tissue, contributing long-term to neurodegenerative disease risk. Low vagal tone disrupts sleep through elevated nighttime heart rate and sympathetic activity, reduced time in deep sleep and REM stages, increased sleep latency, more frequent nighttime awakenings (particularly 2am-4am), higher cortisol levels disrupting circadian rhythm, less recovery per hour of sleep, and greater sensitivity to light, sound, and temperature disturbances. Evening vagal activation practices improve sleep quality by shifting to parasympathetic dominance in the last 30-60 minutes before bed. Practices include 4-7-8 breathing (inhale 4s, hold 7s, exhale 8s), left nostril breathing for 5 minutes, humming or chanting to stimulate auricular vagus branch, cold face wash triggering dive reflex, progressive muscle relaxation, and body scan meditation.

Blue UV light from display screens are really bad as well. 📱 I have a 20% red filter setting on my screen display to cut down on the uvb exposure. They also sell glasses designed to block the blue light.
Could vagus nerve stimulation become an alternative to weight-loss medications?
I can think of another non-invasive device that stimulates the Vagus nerve. 😉 https://www.northwell.edu/news/insights/vagus-nerve-stimulation-weight-loss-medication-alternative
Could vagus nerve stimulation become an alternative to weight-loss medications?

@Sterling Cooley I am down 65 lbs since I started only a few months ago, BUT I am also taking the Mounjaro for diabetes, so I am not a good test subject. However, I am hearing that most gain that weight back once coming off the meds. I fully expect that I will gain some back as I am literally forcing myself to eat times with no appetite whatsoever right now. I am going to check with doc and see If I can start lowering the dosage and get off this stuff. I had no idea it was derived from the venom of a lizard at the time. My hopes are that the continuing VNS will help me maintain a desired weight, with proper eating habits, breathing exercises and workouts of coarse. Big pharma is as evil as it gets... I am hearing nightmare stories of people taking Ozempic or Mounjaro. The sooner I can get off this the better.
How To Decalcify Your Pineal Gland For Better Sleep And Clarity
The pineal gland is a neuroendocrine transducer critical for circadian rhythm regulation. It is uniquely susceptible to calcification from environmental fluoride and heavy metal accumulation. This mineralization impairs the synthesis of serotonin and melatonin. The result is disrupted sleep architecture and reduced cognitive clarity. Effective decalcification requires a targeted biochemical approach. Malic acid, found in apple cider vinegar, assists in mobilizing fluoride for excretion. Vitamin K2 in the MK-7 isoform is essential for calcium homeostasis. It directs calcium toward bone matrix and away from soft glandular tissues. Detoxification is furthered by chlorophyll and neem extract, which sequester heavy metals. To restore function, 660nm red light therapy provides photobiomodulation to the gland’s mitochondrial structures. Biological maintenance of this endocrine hub is essential for long-term neurological health. https://drjoedispenza.com/product/becoming-supernatural-by-dr-joe-dispenza-paperback-book https://medium.com/ https://animamundiherbals.com/ https://vagushub.com/pineal-gland

@Elaine Haka How This Protocol is Typically Approached | According to AI 😉 In holistic wellness frameworks, a protocol involving these supplements generally focuses on daily, consistent synergy rather than high doses. Vitamin K2 (MK-7): Usually taken daily with a fat-containing meal, as it is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is very frequently paired with Vitamin D3, as D3 aids calcium absorption while K2 directs where that calcium goes. Malic Acid / Apple Cider Vinegar: Often consumed in the morning. Many prefer raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (1–2 tablespoons in a large glass of water) or a targeted malic acid supplement. Chlorophyll / Green Superfoods: Typically taken on an empty stomach or in the morning, either as a liquid concentrate mixed with water or via broken-cell-wall chlorella tablets to support daily elimination pathways.
🚨 The #1 Question I Get: "What's the Best Ultrasound Device to Buy?" (My Official Answer + Regional Guide)
Welcome to the group! I know the first few modules are in the Classroom: Skool.com/vagus/classroom available to read right now - but I always see the same question pop up immediately: "What device should I buy?" Instead of *I guess* hoping you will make use of the Classroom which already has the answer, or hoping you would use the Search feature at the top of the site, I wanted to put the answer front and center. This post will be pinned at the top, so you can reference it anytime. The goal is to get you started with the right tool for your region. Let's break it down: USA: If you are in the USA: The US-1000 is your go-to. It’s affordable, incredibly effective, and the perfect entry point for Vagus Nerve Stimulation. For around $54 USD, it’s one of the most accessible biohacks you can invest in. The benefits—from reduced inflammation and deeper sleep to a calmer nervous system—are tremendous for the price. - 👉 Click for Module 2: How to Buy an Ultrasound - 👉 Click for Module 3: How to Use & Place Ultrasound 🌍 If you are in Canada: Great news, the US-1000 is also easily available. - Canada Supplier: Link EU: If you are in the EU or UK: The Rules are a Little Different Due to regulations and availability, the US-1000 isn't sold here. You’ll be looking at the US-2000 Pro class of device. Don't let the "Pro" name intimidate you! It simply means these units produce a higher power output and offer more focused stimulation. You don't really have a choice in the matter, but honestly, you're getting a slightly more powerful unit out of the gate.

I Have to Vent About This
As some of you may have seen in my Facebook post inside the Vagus Nerve Stimulation & Repair Group I get close to 400 Member requests PER DAY in that group, and in my attempt to systematically go through each one, and try to reply all, Facebook is now blocking me from doing that. So I have encouraged all from that group to come here where we are absolutely open to members joining, and I don't have to hand-approve every person. Please encourage friends / family who are on FB and in the group to shift over to Skool.com/vagus immediately. There is no telling if that 37.5k member group will last long. You can see the full post here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/thevagusnerve/permalink/2405105896667323 Thanks for your attention to this matter -Sterling
