Overwhelmed yet?
I hope y'all had a great turkey day. I'm curious though, does this time of year overwhelm you? What I have seen is for at least 90% of people it does, for entrepreneurs it's closer to 98%. I don't need to outline all the reasons why its overwhelming, you know, even if you wont admit it. Know that you are in good company. This is the time of year stress is at an all time high. Now is NOT the time to keep it to yourself. Now is the time to make it known. My hope is this can be a place to do that. Understand this isn't an invitation to "dump". It is an invitation to communicate the overwhelm and get support working through it if you want. I don't expect all the vulnerable nitty gritty details, just simply a "Yeah, I'm overwhelmed." Then we can take it from there. I know this is uncomfortable and probably feels weird, but I'm here for it, for you.

@Nick Sloggett Your question: "Do you feel like when you feel chaos, that's actually a good sign that things are coming together?" Chaos is a tool to spark creativeness and problem solving. As long as you are able to identify the aspects that are creating the most chaos, you can address them and create solutions that calm it. Like any tool, it's likely only helping you if you're using it the right way. Also, you might be able to identify 20 areas that are making you feel chaotic, but likely there are 2 or 3 major areas that if you focus on addressing, solve or improve 75% of the smaller areas on the way to addressing the main things.

@Nick Sloggett No problem, anytime. I have messed around with some day trading and that's a tough parallel to how I think about running a business. I'm sure there are similarities. I have a good friend who is a professional poker player. Talking to him about bankroll management and risk mitigation is probably closer to trading than my practices in business, unless you were starting an investment firm. If trading is going to be your main thing I'd make sure you are keeping a journal of every single trade. Time you enter, time you exit, what indicators you used to weigh the trade and P&L. Firstly for tax reasons and proper accounting, secondly to look back and identify what was done correctly or what can be improved. Having a plan for managing your principal that can weather unexpected turns and cycles in the market and obviously limiting risk by creating risk mitigation principles and not blurring those lines chasing profits. Here to help anytime if I can dd some value to what you have going on

@Luke Anderson We have been meeting weekly and making sure we are staying on track. Have adopted a new meeting format that's really helping our big picture road map. We will get everything done and first meeting of 2025 we will review our 10 year goal and quarterly goals for the new year on an admin retreat. I hired Andrew Wimer as a Director to build out an entirely new department with no ceiling on salary which has been a great collaboration.

@Luke Anderson Oregon Coast for the retreat. Andrew has been great. Has accounted for 700k new revenue in 2024, with 100% of those client contracts coming from referrals based on our brand and reputation. Made 2 phone calls to let people know we were expanding services and the rest just happened. Good example of why I stress company culture so much!
2 questions for you...
I had a few private convos over the weekend and there was a common theme. Essentially, it was the need to connect with your mission and build frameworks around it to hold yourself accountable. Made me wonder how many are also feeling disconnected from their mission and are struggling to stay accountable to the actions and routines they committed to. "Mission" being, the purpose and why behind the thing you do. I know this is new, I know this may feel vulnerable. It's supposed to be a little bit. That's how we improve. Now, my questions. 1st question: Do you feel connected to your mission? 2nd question: Do you feel in control of your daily and weekly rhythms?

1. 100% 2. Working on this daily. Lots of chaos added the last 6 months. Hard to get into a rhythm in grind mode for me but we are working out of it and ready to start 2025 cruising
What’s to come
As the week progresses, you’ll start to see more folks rolling. The goal is NOT to make this a huge group, but rather, an intentional one. A community focused on action and accountability. What has been built out so far is really to start laying the groundwork. Where it goes from here, how it gets refined, and tailored will be based on the needs and desires of the people. YOU! So, as we continue to settle in, get cozy, begin connecting, sharing, and collaborating, things will begin to get tweaked to better facilitate the community. In the meantime, I encourage you to open up. You are here, and that means I am…and we are…ALL here to help. While we might not be in the same industries, we are pursuing the same type of freedom and are wanting to leave the same type of legacy. Along the way, regardless of business seniority or income levels, we will face the same types of challenges, bottlenecks, hurdles, and insecurities. We are here to face them, together. However, in order to do that, we all have to be willing to be a bit vulnerable and intentional with our communication here. With that said, I want to know, what are you working on in your business and what do you need assistance with? Also, @Grace Sloggett kicked is off with the first intro video (instructions found in the “START HERE” module). Follow her lead, make that quick intro video to introduce you and your business so we can all get to know each other better. Let’s do this!

@Luke Anderson We have created job descriptions with processes for each task they perform to help with training future people who step in. Have not implemented score cards yet. Our measurable are not based on sales or money, so I need to find measurable elements that can be scored and tracked that have the biggest impact. That will likely come Q2 of 25.

@Grace Sloggett have you looked into upwork or other channels for people who write proposals that can be contracted or hired?
