💧 Watering Microgreens the Smart Way
Getting watering right is half the battle in microgreens. Here is the framework I use and teach: 1. Germination (Days 0-3) Level the soil so it is flat and even, sow your seeds, give it top watering, then cover with the blackout Tray. The lid traps humidity and keeps the seed coat soft without further watering. DO NOT PEAK 2. Daylight Wake-Up (First 24 h after uncovering) Give one gentle top mist to help loosen hulls. Think “morning dew,” not a rainstorm. 3. Growing On (until harvest)Switch to bottom watering once a day. Pour just enough water into the boot tray, let it settle, then place the growing tray on top. Roots sip what they need, stems stay dry, and mold risks stay low. Quick checkpoints - Wilted tips? Add a second bottom feed. - Yellowing or slimy spots? You are overdoing it, skip the next session and improve airflow. - Hot summer room? Water early morning and again mid-afternoon; cooler seasons often need only one pass. Your turn How often are you watering right now, and what tray depth or medium are you using? Drop your schedule (and any pain points) below so the community can spot tweaks that save you time and trays. 👇

Not growing at the moment but I used Shallow trays with Roots Organic soil. I was watering in the morning (ish) only. I'm new with beginners luck. I really don't have pain points in watering. It is similar to propagating my cannabis plants...too much water will kill them and or grow mold also so I tend to underwater in error. I was wondering if anyone gives sunflowers an addition dark day to germinate?
đŸŒ± Stop Guessing: Track Your Germination Better!
One of the biggest mistakes new growers make? They don’t track how long seeds actually take to germinate under their conditions. Your growing environment is unique. Temperature, humidity, and airflow all affect germination speed. Start a simple grow log. You’ll spot patterns. You’ll get consistent trays. Consistency = Customers Who Stay. What crop have you had the most trouble getting to germinate right? Let’s troubleshoot it together.

Noticed the differences..sunflowers take longer
How far away can you be and still be local?
My farm is in a rural area. The closest town has a low average income and small to mid size ( only 2 Walmarts). Large cities are 1.5 a to 2.5 hours away. Am I still local?

I have several big cities within 400 miles and my territory is Texoma Border. Two states.
Improvement
Hello! I just want to share my success with you. I just harvested my sunflowers and doubled my crop! I was able to yield 460g from the tray—last time, I had just over 200g. Thank you all for your advice and support! I'm very grateful!
