🎬 November & December Screenwriting Success Club Meetings!
We've got some Awesome meetings coming up in November + December! 🥊 November 4: ROCKY! Why the Writing Works Why do we keep rooting for Rocky Balboa? We'll break down all six Rocky movies, exploring character development, story structure, antagonists, and why these movies work so well (except Rocky V!). We'll also discuss what screenwriters can learn from them! (If you can't tell, I'm excited for "I Play Rocky") 🎬 November 5, 12, 19 & December 3, 10: Get Your Movie Out There! These are 2-hour working sessions dedicated to marketing your screenplays and projects! We'll spend the first 10 minutes sharing goals, the next 100 minutes researching and contacting producers, agents, managers, and other industry professionals, and the final 10 minutes sharing our progress. 🎄 November 11: Write a Christmas Movie in 6 Weeks! Kickoff Whether you're writing a brand-new Christmas movie or rewriting an existing screenplay, join us as we kick off our six-week challenge! We'll discuss story structure, characters, and goals to help you finish a stronger screenplay before the holidays. 🎭 November 18: 10-Page Table Reads Bring up to 10 pages of your screenplay to hear your dialogue read aloud, get feedback, and see what works! Features, pilots, and shorts are all welcome! 🎄 December 2: Christmas Movie Writing Check-In How's your Christmas screenplay coming along? We'll share progress, troubleshoot story problems, discuss characters and structure, and help each other keep writing! 🎄 December 9: Christmas Movie Finish Line! Let's finish those Christmas screenplays! We'll celebrate completed drafts and rewrites, discuss final improvements, and talk about next steps for getting your scripts ready to send out! All meetings are listed in the Calendar tab, so check there for times and details! Join the ones that align with your screenwriting goals. We'll have a Holiday Break after December 10, so let's make these next six weeks count! Let's write some great scripts, finish what we start, and get our movies out there!!! 🎬🎬🎬

@Jordan Imiola You’re welcome! Thanks for an informative presentation. It was a good learning experience.
Script Pipeline First Look Project
I’m considering entering my “Paul’s Cross” screenplay to this contest promoted by Final Draft. The fee is $60 which seems reasonable. I went online and feedback was that the contest is legit and reputable, even if the odds of winning anything are about the same as hitting the lottery. Any suggests pro or con?

If you have a favorite, put it below, but if it's hard to pick just 1, give us, what would be in your Top 3 or Top 5?

Top 10 Screenwriting Mistakes
If you couldn't make the live SSC meeting we had last month, I recently took many of the concepts we covered, updated them, and turned them into a brand-new YouTube video. While the live workshop included additional discussion, examples, and Q&A, this is a great refresher on many of the biggest mistakes I see new screenwriters make.

This was a very good video and learned a lot. I think my biggest struggle is with making all the characters sound the same. Can you give some tips on how to make the characters have voices that are more distinct?
