Fundamentals of stance, aiming practice.
The easiest way to start is square upto the board, move your feet till you are comfortable but remaining square. You want to be in the middle of the oche to remain square. Draw a circle with chalk or use a plastic circle, put cross-hairs in the big part of the 20 use a 20 cent piece (australian coin) as your circle. And concentrate on putting 3 darts in that circle all the time. Use the cross hairs for your dart placement. Try getting either straight up and down or on the horizontal (all 3 darts on the line). When you move it to another section of the board don't forget to adjust cross-hairs to line up with the tripple. Pin point accuracy try put all 3 darts in between the cross-hairs like you are trying to shoot the centre of that target you have drawn. throw until you are confident. Then drop down to the tripple 20. Repeat the whole process over the entire board. Build up your confidence then work on hitting doubles, same process. Put 2 darts out of the 3 playing around the world on doubles including 2 in centre bull. Try your luck at 3 when you do 2 darts quickly. Enjoy these training regiments. Continue the process using your imagination when playing a game. Watch your average skyrocket and enjoy. There is a fundamental difference between counting and playing. However 98% of players cannot compete when you have brought this process into your 501 game, also works for cricket/ mickey mouse. Enjoy. It will take you a long time to master, do not be discouraged by your performance initially but simply enjoy one of the hardest challenges you will ever face. 501 will become easy as counting 1-20.
