Coming at this more from the user vs the creator... I feel that those who were already concerned about the "leak" of their IP and process had already moved to a platform that kept it more secure. I think most will either just convert them into skills, followed next by many who just won't bother. (I'm actually more concerned of those who turn their customGPT into a skill - and then sell it as something new rather than pass it on to those who already have it, whether they paid for it or grabbed it as a freebie somewhere.) But I also am being pragmatic and realise that MOST of my concerns are probably FOMO. Have I actually used many of the GPTs I have? Not really. So I see it as a way to "clean out" my massive Airtable base of skills, GPTs, and more. But that's a very good point about the API cost of converting to a vibe-coded app!

@Wendy Breakstone Well, you can’t use GPTs in Claude. 🤣 I’ve not used ChatGPT in months because I moved most things over to Claude. But I have returned recently to continue a few projects that I started in ChatGPT - and because they’ve improved and are even better at a few things. I also like being able to use either as needed. (Or as I hit session limits! Which I do much less often in ChatGPT than I hit in Claude.) Just my luck that my “return” to ChatGPT coincides with them removing CustomGPTs. 🤦‍♂️

Ooo! Nice to see ChatGPT add this by default, now if only Claude follows... otherwise you can link multiple Gmail & Google accounts via the third-party plugin Composio too.

@Wendy Breakstone There’s another one that the AI “bros” have been going on about for a while for agents… but can’t recall its name offhand. But it basically required a second computer set up to run all the time. GrokBot might have made it easier - but I still won’t touch it. Claude and ChatGPT only barely get my attention for actual use - other than planning or building non-AI automations & workflows.

@Wendy Breakstone I use both, but there is zero need for AI to be in literally everything. Especially since either have yet to prove to me that they are deserving of being allowed to run without any oversight at all. But plain and simple, I REFUSE to give any attention to Grok, GrokBot, or ANYTHING pertaining to Musk. That will never change - and even if it truly is accurate that they can do everything that I might want, I still wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.

@Lori Young If you're using Cowork, cowork sessions are sandboxed and limited to only what you mount in the session. Code allows for a lot more freedom to access files - ANY of them, without such a limitation. This may not be something you need, or would want to give Code access to - but I've found it does come in handy for this facet alone. (But still work in Cowork more!)

@Wendy Breakstone Not your imagination. I'm slowly migrating to have EVERYTHING for my site and business in various Airtable bases. Tired of being unable to access local files when I'm not at my laptop, but also because with the advance of Connectors and AI tools, it's smart to move things where they can connect to read from or write to easily. As for this planned project, it also does keep referring back to the same base - designed in stages. Almost like an assembly line, actually. Each row gets processed through each step: initial IMDb Apify scrape, TMDb scrape, grabbing the film posters, researching the platforms the film is on via additional scrapes, etc. And this film entry "build" base is separate from the "live" Film Database base that my WP site is linked into via n8n. That base's relationship with n8n is rather circular. That way updates to either my main site or the main Airtable base get pushed/synced through to the others. I DO use Codex a bit, though mainly for my Archive system thus far since it handles the entire ChatGPT platform for that system. But need to look into where it might be more help. I also dabble with Claude Code instead of just Codex, which gives me more power. But I REFUSE to allow Claude to access my browsers - all three times I've attempted, it has commandeered it entirely and quickly started veering off track. Even if it were to be set up on a separate computer or at night when I'm not actively trying to work on other things, it has proven that I cannot trust it and have rescinded it's access. But glad to hear others are using it without similar issue. And thanks, my niche is VERY niche - makes it a tad difficult to collab though. It's hard to offer others much benefit, though my Cross-LLM system seems to be a means for that - even if it's not exactly my business's main focus!

@Rachael S This is on my very long to-do list too - to finally move from my spreadsheets into a system. I've actually been eyeing Airtable with Claude connecting in to oversee much of the analysis, but that's mainly because my business requires at least three currencies - and most financial platforms require the highest costing plan just for that part alone. Does Wave have their own MCP yet, because that would make it a LOT easier. If not, then you can usually use third-party MCPs to link into their API. I use Composio with a free account to link up my GitHub and haven't hit the limits yet despite weekly batch tasks and regularly other calls to GitHub.
