This weekend, I had the opportunity to go to the rink to practice. With all of the rain we’ve had makes it difficult to get outside. We have more rain coming in, I’m not sure when I will get back on the wheels. But it felt good to be rolling!

Just pondering 🤔 Now that I’m 4 months in, I feel like one of the first things I should have known is weight transfer and what it really means. It’s just now really clicking for me for things like transitions and learning how to pivot. I think if I were to teach someone, I would put balance and weight transfer at the top of the list. Learning how to pick up my feet and move my weight in my boot is becoming a game changer.

I received my outdoor wheels. I took my butt outside with my skates & safety gear to the basketball court. I proceeded to fall 4 times. I’m struggling to find my balance. I do well at the skating rink but not so much outside.

My outdoor wheels have finally come in! I changed the wheels on one skate & tried to see the difference. There is a definite difference! These will work when I’m outside! Now, I’m looking for a tool that I can use to change my toe stop. Anyone have any ideas?

The closest rink to me is about an hour away. I’ve been going just about every weekend & it’s been my only practice time. According to my research, the wheels on my skates are geared for indoor skating. Now, there’s a cement basketball court a couple of blocks away. I’ve ordered softer wheels to be able skate outdoors and I’m getting protective gear to make it a bit more safer for me.
