Happy Solstice/Holidays/New Year everyone!
Hope you're all enjoying the quiet reflections for the new year! We enjoyed a chill holiday at home this year when the mountain pass was too much to cross to go to my mom's. Instead, we played games Eli got for Christmas, attempted ice skating (too crowded) and went for a nature walk, asked questions for each other to answer (What was most surprising this year? What is your biggest milestone? etc) In the comments is a gif of a Wooden Goat burning from our annual winter solstice party at a friend's place. Found out 5 of us parents all had birthdays in December..! What did you all do? Please share pics in the comments!

Quite the ritual celebration, Monica and Anna. My day was a peaceful day of gratitude, a long walk with the dog, paying attention to the land all around me, gratitude for the seasons! Gratitude for the cycles of life we are a part of. I have made a point to enjoy the warm weather even though the plants and I don't seem to quite know what to do with it and the pine beatles are rampant in this warmest December ever. I thought of the chart Anna shared about nuclei and atoms, all the way up to the biosphere. Who do I be loving my atoms and cells - yes, and the biosphere, includingallpoints in between, I am also a part of? Bringing love, compassion, curiosity, creativity, and affinity to that whole span micro to macro, inseparable from all of it? Mystery & miracle of LIFE & Energy...
Power of Silence (Mojo Monday Challenge 16)
Have you ever taken a vow of silence? What if I were to tell you silence is one of the greatest access points to calm the mind? As I attend my 3rd 10 Day Vipassana Silent Meditation Retreat this Wednesday, this week's challenge is to take a vow of silence for any period of time that works. Ideally it's at least a full day if not 2 days, but a half day for a few hours could work. MOJO MONDAY CHALLENGE 16: 1. Watch the video below on how to take a Vow of Silence/Silent Retreat. If you accept this challenge, comment below WHEN you'll take your retreat, where, and for how long. 2. Let us know how last week went for Mojo Monday Week 15 here. 3. Comment on 2 people's posts and support them!

I like the idea of the silent retreat and see that right now I am only willing to give myself one day and have coordinated to do this on Dec 21. I will be staying at home and not speaking to my spouse for three days seems like a stretch. I am interested in creating three days offline and out of electronic communication Dec 19-21. (I have this little voice saying - can I actually do that this time of year? What about...") Yes, I can.

I have had a bit different type of retreat than planned. I had some well being challenges that had me disengage from online completely for a couple of days and had two days of silence during the weeklong time when I did not really address anything, immediately followed by power outages - 17 hours one day and after a day of power, a 40 hour power outage, so away from everything except my husband. I was not able to join y'all and have had a lot of opportunity for quieting and meditation, an opportunity for hours of walking and xigong, contemplation and gratitude. A peaceful week ahead for the Christmas holiday - low key, full of joy, relaxation and gratitude for the andundance we enjoy. And we are very happy to have the power back!

I am assuming you mean the mixed communication hour on Tues? I have been ill and away holidays and missed lately and will be on weekly after Christmas. I have on my calendar for Mon & Tues sessions.
Vote for Additional Meditation Class Times
Exciting news! Ever have a hard time meditating consistently? Notice that it's way easier in a group, even if just with one other person? We'll be adding a new meditation class time in addition to Fri at 8am, which will be turned into a "No Host" meditation hour open to those who have completed the free 5 day challenge (which gives you the basics and foundation to make the most of your meditation hour). Then we'll add a different day for Ignite members hosted by me. Please vote which time works best for you and this will be a time that I will host. Comment if you can make more than 1 time. Shout out to Founding Member @Erika Kinno for the idea of adding "no host" meditation times to the calendar. What does "no host" mean? Just like it sounds. There's no host, a Skool link will be given, and anyone can simply join in and meditate in silence however they'd like. If you cannot make the whole hour, stay as long as you are able.
