Hello πŸ˜„ A couple planning questions, please, LTM friends!
I am planning to launch group classes in January (which is around the corner πŸ˜…)... so I'd love to know: ▢️▢️▢️ 1) Which languages are you most interested in learning? (& why? 2) When in the week would be best for scheduling? Weekdays/Weekends? πŸ—£πŸ—£πŸ—£ Thank you! ✨✨✨ πŸ’™

My wonderful podcast guest this morning (Milton Foster, The Jamaican Polyglot https://www.instagram.com/thejamaicanpolyglot/) brought up a language learning tool so many people love, that I've never been able to get into: Anki. https://apps.ankiweb.net/ Flashcards, spaced memory technique... Dropping it here because so many linguists I know love it! And by the way I'm high key spamming the group this week (sorry not sorry) partly because I want to hit 90 contributions so that Skool will let me customise the name πŸ˜‚ So please ask me any questions you might have!! #askdesta About languages, music, travel, culture, the upcoming intercultural training... London, Bangkok! Help me hit that 90 contribution mark in a way that's useful for you πŸŽΆπŸŽΆβ–ΆοΈβ–ΆοΈβ–ΆοΈ Thanks obrigada merci yekenyelay!

I absolutely detest Anki πŸ˜‚ I think people like it because it can measure "success" and you feel like you are doing something. Just my opinion but I think it's like the old fashioned spelling tests we used to have at school-you're learning for the test but recalling in conversation is totally different. Anki is a bit like Marmite......you either love it or hate it πŸ˜‚ I do think there are way better things you can do with your time for language learning but it's like anything, if it works for you then go for it.

Sunderland isn't a 'City of Music' but it is a Music City which I'm very proud of. Sunderland is on the up in so many ways but we have always had an amazing music scene. https://www.musiccitiesnetwork.com/member-cities

Love learning languages. Want to be fluent in Spanish and Korean but constantly dabbling in new ones. πŸ€ͺ
