Fell assessment
Just completed the ADHD Awakening Assessment and the line that broke me open: I'm not a scattered guy with too many interests. I've been doing the same thing my whole life - from playing with clay as a kid, to running D&D campaigns, to researching why my marriage crashed, to writing about frames of Jesus in the desert. I'm an investigator of invisible systems. Turns out the "career path" wasn't missing. The job title was.
Listening to Gabor Mate
I am listening to Gabor Mate talk about how being too nice is making you sick. (If it is OK I can post the link here.) And I wonder if I am crazy for thinking this, but to me. Gabor Mate's voice sounds like s slowed down version of Sylvester Stallone.

I've been practicing something small. Not a full reset. Not "clean the whole living room." 🙅‍♀️ Just this: every time I leave a space, I leave it a little prettier than I found it. 💥 Before bed? I put away two books. 📚 Made my breakfast? I clean up one thing that was still on the counter - mine, someone else's, doesn't matter. 🍳 Walking through the kitchen? One mug in the dishwasher. ☕ One thing. That's it. ✨ No judgment. No "ugh, what a mess." Just: okay, I'll pick up one thing. 🌱 And here's the magic⭐ all those little moments add up. The house gets lighter. Happier. 🏡💫 Next time I walk in? It's already a little nicer than the last time that I walked in. It's not cleaning. It's MICRO LOOP-CLOSING 🔄💛 Try it today. One thing. One space. That's enough. 🌿✨

I love this concept. Closing micro loops. I am going to have to try this. It is similar to another concept I do already. I tried to leave people and places better than I found them. So, I try to have an upbeat attitude when I meet people. I got in the habit of saying "It's always a good day." When people ask me how I am doing. The response is overwhelmingly positive. (Thought I did have to stop myself at a funeral.)
Path Forward
Just completed all 5 sections of the Awakening Assessment. Biggest realization: the thing I'm "fumbling around trying to figure out" uses the exact same language as the thing I'm best at - troubleshooting, diagnosing, building. My purpose isn't missing. I've just been looking for it in a different vocabulary than the one I already speak.

Harmony Reset
The mirror principle just clicked. My 2 PM wake-ups and 4 AM study sessions aren't a discipline problem - they're what happens when a brilliant mind has no external structure to anchor to. Turns out the routine I keep chasing isn't really about the routine. It's about needing somewhere to be in order to feel useful.
