Please roast my about page
https://www.skool.com/boring-guitar-club-8772/about Hey everyone, hope you’re all well. I would love some feedback on my about page. I have recently moved from being a free group to a paid one and signups have dramatically slowed. I expected some change but was hopeful to still attract enough of the right crowd to continue to grow member numbers. Thanks in advance.

@Ettjen Jansingh Thanks Ettjen! Yes I have lots of experience teaching and performing so can certainly add some of that in there. I like the baby analogy. My daughter is 2 and we are expecting another arrival in December so that kind of thinking is very present in my mind! Thank you

@Ettjen Jansingh Ha! Amazing! That’s very cool! Can the tuning in to people still work in an online setting or is it an in person situation?
☕ Coffee?
[ROAST MY LESSON] I'm not a nutricionist and any advice I do on that should not be taken seriously. But I once heard from a fitness expert the advice on delaying caffeine. That means, drinking coffee later on the day, not at the early morning. And I'm sharing this because it works wonders for me. If I take coffee in the early morning, it's a guarantee that my cortisol will drop by the afternoon and that will start a cicle of addiction where I'll just keep increasing the dosage week after week to keep my energy levels up. On the other hand if I resist the temptation to drink in the early morning, when my cortisol is naturally high and instead do some exercise, I'll only need a small dosage at the late morning or early afternoon to keep my energy levels stable for the whole day. Anyway everyone has a different body. I took this advice, experimented and saw how it better applies to my own life.

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster I started doing this too. Heard about it on some podcast and thought it sounded easy and free to try. I find it helps too. I get to wake up a bit more naturally and don’t have any caffeine spikes happening around the day.

@Paulo Costa, The Roaster I think I have just squashed mine into a smaller consumption window 😂

🎮 Not enough gamification?
[ROAST MY IDEA] or [GIVE ME MORE SUGESTIONS] I just had an idea for gamificating this community's leaderboard, because that's not something I've been doing before. All of that will happen on top of the 3 ongoing competitions we already have. The way you gamify the leaderboards is by unlocking classroom content. So I'll be remaking the classroom in order to acommodate that new format. But here is the twist, instead of unlocking content, you unlock promotional and networking oppotunities, because that's the main thing here. The content will be avaiable to every member as I believe information is already easily avaiable, but genuine networking is what makes we stick to a group. Level 1: You unlock "The Roast Book" (more about it later) and Roasty High Skool (it will be locked to level 1 again), and I'll introduce you at the playground tagging someone you should meet Level 2: Welcome to the grill! I'll introduce you to the whole community in a separate weekly post if you just leveled up! Level 3: You get featured at the Cafeteria. This is a place where I'll promote everyone by niche. It was taking me too much work to keep it updated, but now I'll retroactivelly add everyone on the list, but only members that are level 3 and above. Level 4: The Nerd Board: get feautred in nerdy posts similar to this one. Level 5: Matchmaking Events: I'll regularly start conversation tagging members that are level 5 and above at the cafeteria or in separate posts. I'll keep closer attention to those members and what they are doing. Level 6: You get featured in The Roast Book. What is the Roast Book? It's a book compiling all of the wisdom given by our most active roasters from beggining to end, with the help of AI agents and linking the original comment. Each level 6 member and above will have their own chapter on the book and of course a section at the beggining promoting their work. We currently have 7 members that can be featured.

I really like this idea. And your philosophy that the content is free but ‘access’ is the upgrade. I think these are good incentives that encourage already active members to continue to be active.
Where is the grill?
If you just joined Roast & Promote you might be a little confused on how to roast others and become the roaster of the week. This post explain the point system, but you don't need to worry about that to win. Basically every post that I and the members make, except for post tagged as admin posts are roast requests (or marketing research posts if you want opinions instead of critiques). Engage with the posts giving insightful, detailed, unique and helpful answers and you will climb up the ranks. There is a point system but it only exists so my judgement is fair and not arbitrary, you don't need to worry about it. If you want to game the system, be the first one to roast someone or roast the post that is currently pinned, that will multiply your points. The winner will get promoted at the very top for 7 days and also have other posts calling discussions on their niche where they are also linked. And you also get shoutouts during the week if you're among the top 3. Like those champions are right now: 1st 🥇@Roberto Srpak : 84 points - Want to make real money with high ticket offers? OBB1 Community Navigator and OBB1 Community Navigator /Pro are the places you want to be! 🥈 @LaToya Wiggins: 52 points - LaToya helps people build offers, sharpen skills, and grow profitable, purpose-driven businesses at The Gem Vault
