Hi everyone, I was never interested in Japan growing up. It wasn't until I was well into my adult life that I started appreciating anime, had adult money, and wanted to see Japan. My wife and I visited straight after the country came out of COVID lockdown. We fell in love straight away with the culture, history and people. We were lucky to see Tokyo and Kyoto tourist free, besides ourselves because of the lockdown. We have plenty of photos of popular tourist spots with no one around. We've been back multiple times since and have ventured out into the rural areas and towns. We've visited and stayed at all the big cities, plus spent time in Kochi, Kure, Aso, Takaharu, Sapporo, Okinawa, Fukuoka, Marugame and Semboku. We're returning in 2 weeks, this time to visit Kobe, Tokushima, Maniwa, Omihachiman and back to Semboku. My wife loves collecting random souvenirs from Japan such as handmade fans, chopsticks, Ghibli figures, castle coins, and wooden ema's. I've also purchased Japanese video games and anime figures for my collection.
