1-Hour Team Training Outline (Dr. Joe Vitale Goal Setting + Testing)
Total time: 60 minutes (includes intro + dismissal)Goal of session: Each player leaves with a season goal written in present tense that “tests strong” via muscle testing. 0:00–0:05 (5 min) — Introduction + Set the Frame - Why we’re doing this: goals that are yours (not parents/coaches/friends) stick. - Quick expectation: respect, focus, no judging anyone’s goals. - Outcome: everyone will have a tested, present-tense goal for the season. 0:05–0:15 (10 min) — 1. Muscle Testing: Demo + How It Works Coach-led demonstration - Explain “strong vs. weak” response in simple terms. - Demo with 1–2 volunteers: - Key coaching point: this is feedback, not magic—use it to refine clarity and alignment. Quick group practice (if time allows): - Pair up and run one quick test each so everyone feels it once. 0:15–0:23 (8 min) — 1b. Define a 5-Year Vision (Big + Scary) Prompt (write): - “In 5 years, I want to be the kind of athlete/person who…” - Make it exciting and a little intimidating (the “scares you” test). - Remind them: no limits talk, no “I can’t,” no apologizing for big dreams. 0:23–0:30 (7 min) — 2. Create a 2–3 Year Goal (More S.M.A.R.T.) Prompt (write): - What’s a measurable milestone that moves you toward the 5-year vision? - Encourage specifics: role, level, skills, stats, leadership, academics, strength, etc. - Quick check: “Would I know if I hit it?” 0:30–0:36 (6 min) — 3. Create a 1-Year Goal Prompt (write): - “One year from now, I will have accomplished…” - Must be realistic enough to pursue, big enough to matter. 0:36–0:43 (7 min) — 4. Set a Goal for This Season Prompt (write): - One season outcome goal (performance/role/result) - One season process goal (habits/effort/consistency) - If you only want one, pick the one that matters most. 0:43–0:48 (5 min) — 5. Write the Season Goal in Present Tense Instructions: - Convert their #4 season goal into present tense, as if it’s already true. - Format examples:

@Jason Taylor •Milton, Ga •6th grade and Up •My challenge is frustration with the current state of club sport. No development and training kids like they’re 18+ yr olds. Basic skill development is lost. I train all sports.
