šŸ Circle of Care: Autumn Isn’t Just a Season—It’s a Signal 🧺
As the leaves turn and routines shift, it’s not just you feeling the change—your loved one might be, too. This weekend, we invite you to pause and ask: 🧔 What does your loved one need right now? - A cozy wardrobe update for cooler mornings? - A gentle nudge to schedule that checkup? - A favorite fall activity—apple picking, porch chats, warm soup, or a walk through crunchy leaves? Care isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes it’s a fresh pair of socks. A reminder call. A shared laugh. A moment of presence. šŸ’¬ Share one thing you’re doing (or planning) to support someone you love this season. And if you’re not sure what your loved one needs, that’s okay. Start with a question. Start with love. That’s Circle of Care.

Ideas to Beat Boredom in Assisted Living...
My dad recently moved into assisted living and he’s been feeling a bit bored. At home, he always loved tinkering and working with his hands, but now with his dementia and limited physical activity, it’s harder to keep him engaged. Has anyone found activities, projects, or even simple hobbies that worked well in a similar situation? I’d really appreciate any suggestions to help keep him stimulated and happy.

šŸ—£ļø Foods for Quick Relief Day 8: Sore Throat
šŸÆ Swap Lozenges for Raw Honey Scratchy throat? That dry, painful tickle that makes swallowing feel like sandpaper? Before you reach for medicated lozenges or sprays, try nature’s golden remedy: honey. āœ… Why It Works: Honey isn’t just sweet—it’s medicinal. - Antibacterial & antiviral: Raw honey contains hydrogen peroxide and other compounds that fight microbes. - Anti-inflammatory: Soothes irritated tissues and reduces swelling. - Demulcent effect: Coats the throat, forming a protective barrier that eases pain and suppresses cough. - Antioxidants: Support immune function and healing. Studies show honey can be as effective as over-the-counter cough suppressants—especially in mild cases and nighttime relief. āœ… How to Use It: - Take 1 teaspoon of raw honey straight, slowly letting it coat your throat. - Stir into warm (not hot) herbal tea—try chamomile, ginger, or lemon. - Mix with turmeric and black pepper for an anti-inflammatory throat paste. - Combine with garlic or cinnamon for a DIY immune booster. āš ļø Important Safety Note: Honey should never be given to children under 1 year old due to the risk of infant botulism—a rare but serious condition caused by bacterial spores that may be present in honey. For adults, raw honey is generally safe and soothing when used in moderation. šŸ’¬ What’s your honey ritual? Do you go raw, infused, or blended? Drop your favorite combos below—and let’s build a throat-soothing recipe bank together!

We have a lot of local honey now - I love a honeycomb. But for cough or sore throat....2 ounces whiskey or bourbon, 4 ounces water, 2 teaspoons lemon juice — microwave for about a minutes or so — add 1½ tablespoons honey — stir and enjoy...aka Hot Toddy šŸÆšŸ
