Latest update to this part of the tune. This time with the B section and the corrections in the A sections so astutely pointed out by @Mentor Bob Kinney. There's nothing fancy here just the straight melody played in time with a focus on clean and clear notes. I think there are still a few spots where I could sustain a note just a bit longer. I wanted (needed?) to get it very stable before exploring any embellishments, decorations or rhythmic variations. At this pace, I found it surprisingly easy to lose concentration and lose my place. As usual, any and all feedback is appreciated...

As suggested by @Mentor Bob Kinney, here is a quick video of Blue Bossa, 5 chorus exercise (head in, comp, arps, approach to 3rds, head out). This was pretty close to the tempo that I had a chance to play live with a band. After listening, I’m coming to the conclusion that, at least for me, playing a skinny CM seems too much- I think it might be better to make it even skinnier. I think that I’m also trying to do too much stuff and should simplify some. Anyway, overall thrilled to get to this level after about a year and a half in JGA/Marcs guitar university. I'm posting a homework assignment here. Not very exciting for the community, but at least sharing it rather than submitting directly to @Coach Gabriel Sebrian. The assignment was to perform one of the neighboring tone drills while cycling in fourths, primarily staying in/near one position. The objectives are to drive home the NT approach while also increasing fretboard knowledge. I think both objectives are being met. As I have bemoaned in the past, I can do so much more than what is shown here without a pulse. I did take some liberties on the actual notes assigned to make it feel more musical (Coach - forgive me!). I intentionally aimed for a shuffle feel, and also intentionally made the first note of each four note sequence staccato for effect. I'm very happy and excited about where my improv is going, and expect to be able to post something more interesting than exercises within a few weeks. I recognize I keep resolving to post more and then fail to do so. Apparently between work and the rest of my non-retired life I'm just going to continue to have this challenge. Second part of my homework this week (from @Mentor Bob Kinney ): 3 chorus exercise of Summertime (head in, comp/improv, head out). I tried to replicate something similar to playing with a combo last weekend. After listening- I hear that the timing seems off - and the chord stabs are sloppy. I'm starting to work these days with volume 3 of Barry Galbraith (with Marc's videos, they are fantastic!), very difficult and very useful at the same time. To relax a little, I wanted to start playing a piece by Ralph Towner that I've always liked: Summer's End, a beautiful ballad. I've made the chord sequence with iReal Pro (I attach an image). It's the second tribute that I dedicate to my beloved Ralph Towner (who I've been listening to since I was sixteen) and who passed away this past January. I'll also try to make a chord melody, let's see if I can manage it.
