I did it! (Well… at least got closer 😅)
I’ve been working on getting my little robot arm running with LinuxCNC, an open-source CNC machine control software. It's been a tough challenge, but I’ve made a big step forward: ✅ LinuxCNC can now talk to the robot arm’s controller and tell it where to move. ✅ As long as a CAN bus link is set up, any computer can run this arm using LinuxCNC. Still on the to-do list: - 🛠️ Fixing some jittering issues - 🔍 Getting sensor detection working Once that’s sorted, I’m planning to build a teaching pendant for easier control, really looking forward to that project! Meanwhile, on the business side: I’ve started posting 3D printing tips & content on LinkedIn to connect with companies that need 3D printing services. Hopefully I can bring some people into the Skool community too, we’ll see how that goes!

New Project?
Just found this guy on YouTube who made the simplest homemade CNC build I’ve ever seen. He uses a granite slab as the base and a thick steel piece bent to 90 degrees as the Z-axis. In another video he talks about the play in the machine, I linked the rigidity test and showcase videos below. For what it is, the thing seems surprisingly stable, even with some 3D-printed parts. i assume the build costs a bit under $1000, which looks like a way better deal than most off the shelf machines you can get at that price. Definitely got me interested in trying something like this once I can budget for it. Let me know what you think! Quick Update!
Hey guys, I haven’t posted in here for a bit and finally got the time to give a quick update. I’ve been working on some orders recently. Sadly, I can’t share much in terms of visuals due to an NDA, but it’s been going great. I’ve completed a couple of orders through a platform called Xometry, where I provide 3D printing services. It’s been pretty profitable for me. Recently, I also learned that one of the customers I served through Xometry was a massive precision machining company called Mapal. On top of that, I’ve been working on some cold outreach to get more clients. I’ll share more as soon as I have some results from that!

@Bryan Reiter Yeah they are awesome, i actually also just got "trusted" factor on there which means i get access to large orders, theres a bunch of work that you can do, they accept 3d printing, milling, laser cutting and a dozen more methods, i love their platform

@Bryan Reiter Well im new to the CAM game, i just started learning Fusion 360 CAM too, i have some experience designing in Fusion so i feel comfortable with their interface, might need to switch if i face issues similar to yours but i got no CNC to run my CAM program on anyways so for now im just learning settings

@Jens Kristian Nysæter Hey Jens, i am very happy to see you in here! That fixture looks really impressive. I’d love to learn a bit more, when you say you specialize in fixturing, do you mean designing setups for holding stock on CNC machines, or do you mean fixturing for other industries/use cases as well?
LinuxCNC
I am trying to get my pi5 to communicate with a teensy 4.1 over SPI so i can have LinuxCNC send info over to the Teensy to tell it which motors to move, been having some trouble with it though since the SPI interface did not work whatsoever on the Pi5 running debian, not using raspian since its not RT, if anyone has any clue what i can do please let me know, i've been reading forums for LinuxCNC and SPI but i just cant get the hang of it yet, any help would be appreciated Link to latest forum page i was reading through: https://www.forum.linuxcnc.org/10-advanced-configuration/32050-serial-peripheral-interface
