One feather at a time
I started this painting last weekend and throughout the week I’ve been sitting down with it just adding some lines Adding some pastels Adding more Watercolours My daughter came and help me make some colours for the sky My partner did his work in his office while I scribbled away and made highlights It’s taking me a lot longer than I thought, but I’ve been really enjoying the process What is something that you know, If you take your time that you will complete? Can we find more patience?

@Jenny Landis I took inspiration from the eagle emerging from your blank page and wrote this poem 🙏 The page is a wasteland, white and stark, A canvas of silence before the first mark. My hand makes a ghost, a tremor of grey, A hesitant promise to show the way. A curve for the shoulder, a slash for the beak, A shape that is silent, yet starting to speak. A line for the wing, a powerful sweep, An outline of promise, a secret to keep. And the tail feathers spread, a fan in the air, A sketch of a spirit, a ghost in a prayer. A curve of the neck, a shadow for an eye, A form on the paper, beginning to fly. Then the brush finds the water, the colour awakes, A wash of pure azure for heaven's own lakes. It bleeds on the paper, a soft, living stain, It darkens the hollows and whispers the rain. The grey starts to deepen, the brown starts to gleam, The eagle emerges from a half-remembered dream. With a flick of the wrist, a touch of the soul, The watercolour deepens and starts to take hold. A glint of pure gold for the sun on its crest, A shadow of umber for the depths of its chest. The colours they mingle, they blend, and they fight, Until feathers of fire ignite in the light. And it's more than just pigment, it's more than design, The bird on the paper is no longer a sign. It's a heartbeat of cobalt, a pulse in the red, The spirit of sky on the page has been bred. From the ashes of nothing, from the blank, stark white, The eagle ascends in a blaze of pure light. The journey is over, the painting is done, The bird has awoken, the battle is won. The shape I have birthed from the paper and brush, Is silent, yet soaring. In the hush… It's alive.
Stepping away and coming back
When I first started, it was all about writing and painting then I found Watercolours and I did it for years straight. I admit that life got busy and I wasn’t dedicating as much time to my regular craft and I diverged the other day. I ended up watching a YouTube video that inspired me to come back to what felt familiar. It took me a couple hours to get into it, but once I did, I was so grateful here is a progress picture. Is there something that you’ve walked away from that you want to return to?

What my heart actually wanted
I finally stopped pretending to want what I thought I should want. Over the past couple months, I asked myself: Do I want to coach? Lead art classes and circles? Or just... exist without agenda? (That last one was hella tempting, not gonna lie.) Just me and my sketch book… Here's the honest part: My brain kept reaching for the "smart thing." The one with the most value. The one that all those successful people are talking about on Skool. But then I'd sit with it, Journal and my heart would just... pull me back. The art studio. We started this 4 years ago, and it turns out that's where I'm most alive. Where the effort actually means something not because it's impressive, but because it light me up. It resonates, so I'm going with that. Building a messy studio, one step at a time. Once I started, all the ideas started flowing and I got more zest for life. Maybe you know that feeling that thing you keep coming back to, even when nothing about it makes logical sense?

As you know, Jenny, I made the most difficult decision way back in 2017 to give up my global corporate job with all its riches...and hassles...to create my retreat centre here in France, and through the tough times, of which there have been many over the years, I still refuse to prostitute myself and go back to that world when times become financially hard. Right now I have a multi-generational group of 45 people here; the joy I get every day, watching the children running, playing, making tree swings, setting up hammocks in the orchard, making dens, people creating artwork, painting, others playing guitars, group conversations, me doing healing sessions, tuina massages and acupuncture. It's truly joyous.....So, you go girl, follow your heart, follow your dreams 🙌

Welcome @Stefan Sczyrba 👋
Day 10/10
My reflections from doing 10 minutes a day for 10 days (not consecutively) took me 18 days. In this time, I learned to just follow the nudges. Some days it was playing music Some days it was singing Some days it was writing in my journal Some days it was drawing Some days it was painting stones Some days it was stacking stones Some days it was face painting Some days it was motivational Some days was hard Some days I didn’t wanna create So I gave myself grace. So here we are. Still creating. And my biggest lesson was to keep answering the creative calling, no matter what that looks like Thank you for being a part of this journey. I think we will do it again next month! How do you feel creating just a little bit even 10 mins day?

Time, time, time.... We place so much of our life under the constraints of time; we are told and encouraged to set time-based goals in every part of our life, and to make sure we do them on Time, and if we don't, we are often chastised for missing the deadline/s...I understand that some time constraints are absolutely needed, especially if life is on the line, but for the majority of things, time-based activities can also cause us suffering, the time constraint binding our creativity, rushing us, making us anxious, and causing us distress...So I'm happy your ten-day project took 18 days, as it gave you the freedom to break free of the time constraints and be 'You', to allow your creativity to break free...Well done, Jenny, well done for being you 😊🙏
