Keeping Mark in our prayers today.
I want to start out by thanking Mark and Paul for putting this site together. I think a lot of good things get shared here. With that in mind I want everyone to take a moment and lift Mark, his family, his surgeon and supporting staff up to God and ask for the best possible outcome today as he goes into heart surgery. He may be a wimpy hockey player, but he is doing God’s work and we know that Satin will do everything possible to stop him. So I am asking for prayers of protection, comfort and an easy rehab for him. Also for the doctors that their hands be steady, minds sharp and that no detail is missed.

Death
When you think about death, what comes to mind? Tonight I was having dinner with a crew member and he hands me a piece of paper that he has had in his wallet for about four years. He asked me to read it. When I did it had some very dark thoughts on it, about how we don’t know how it all ends. He asked me what I thought about what he had written. I told him that when I died I was going to go be with my creator and get a new body, celebrate, so I don’t really care it ends here. I told him I hope I go quick and don’t suffer, but I can’t wait to meet our Lord. He gave me a strange look and tried to explain to me about how all of the losses of friends/family, relationships, jobs were all deaths of some sort, but the one big one we know very little about. I told him that when he comes to Jesus he won’t be worrying about what he had written when he was in a dark place. He just nodded and went on with his dinner. How would you guys handled it? It was very strange, but gave me an opening to speak about our savior.

Hey Matt, I seem to meet a lot of people similar to this that just seem to have a life filled with fear/doubt/darkness instead of faith. They're surrounded by the glory of God yet for some reason all they can do is focus on the crap that's on the ground around them or the crap that's going on in their life. To me, It's such a small difference between faith and fear. Once fear becomes 51% and Faith becomes 49%, many people seem to lower their head and miss out on The greatness of today. Lift your head up and focus on the glory of God! You are surrounded by it everywhere you look and for me that helps me bump my faith up to the 51%. Here's a video I did based on "this is the day the Lord hath made." Tim Tebow writes a great book about this. I hope the video blesses you! I'm glad you got the opportunity to share Jesus with him. Now the tough part is taking a step back and letting Jesus do the work. I did a bunch of other videos with regards to death while I was dealing with Debbie as she was preparing to die. I'll try to do some research and send them your way. Keep preaching and teaching brother!

Hey Matt, here's a couple videos that I filmed about 2 months before Debbie passed. I really sensed the Lord was preparing me when I filmed this.
By God's Grace, I'm Still Here: A Story of Faith, Family & Survival
Over the past week, I experienced one of the most difficult health battles of my life. What began as a procedure to place my sixth heart stent quickly turned into a life-threatening emergency when I developed a severe gallbladder infection that progressed to sepsis, requiring three days in the ICU, a week in the hospital, and a temporary drainage tube to help my body heal. By God's grace, the incredible care of my cardiologist, and the countless prayers, messages, and encouragement from my family and friends, I am now home and on the road to recovery. I still have a journey ahead of me, but I am deeply grateful for every prayer that was lifted on my behalf and for everyone who stood beside me during this challenging time. Your love, support, and faith have meant more to me than words can ever express. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
