Dataverse n Fabric integration
Hi All, anyone dabbled with dataverse to fabric integration? Any gotchas that I would need to be wary of ?

@Carl Thompson thanks for the reply, very informative. Always costs involved
How are your data engineers positioned within the business?
Quick question for the group: How are your data engineers positioned within the business? In our proposed model, IT is responsible for extracting and landing source data into Bronze (raw/delta) in a Fabric Lakehouse, while data engineers sit closer to the business and own Silver and Gold transformations, including semantic/analytical modelling. Keen to hear how others have structured this in practice and whatโ€™s worked (or not).

Our setup is covering everything from source ingestion thru to gold and all steps in between as we are a professional services consultancy company.

โ“ How are you using Variable Libraries? (If at all!)
Hey community! Are you using the Variable Library in Fabric?! I'm doing some research for a future YouTube video, and it would be great to open up a bit of a discussion around how you're using them so far, considering they are now Generally Available! What use cases are you using them for? Any tips to share about how you set them up? Or perhaps you're using the REST API endpoints for variable libraries for more advanced use cases? Any experience, big or small, would be useful to know about - so please share below! ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Hi @Will Needham , we use variable libraries for lakehouse shortcuts betweenn workspaces, along with value sets for deployment between environments to update IDs for workspaces, lakrhouses, pipelines. Also use then to reflect the version release of workspaces during deployment. The downside of then is you need to have all the IDs of workspaces, lakrhouses for deployment between environments. Meaning items need to exists in the target environment to get the ID so you can update the associated value set variable and redeploy again. We are using the fabric-cicd for deployment

@Will Needham no not at this stage, only when using with a fabric deployment pipelines and activating the environment value set we have to manually reselect the correct workspace and lakehouse via the manage shortcut option. Using fabric-cicd this is automatically done
Notebook Spark error
Hi all, I'm running into an intermittent issue of notebooks failing to run. The error that crops us is: InvalidHttpRequestToLivy: [TooManyRequestsForCapacity] This spark job can't be run because you have hit a spark compute or API rate limit. To run this spark job, cancel an active Spark job through the Monitoring hub, choose a larger capacity SKU, or try again later. HTTP status code: 430 {Learn more} HTTP status code: 430. This error will come and go randomly without any input from me. I'm really only testing notebooks on a small scale so I'm not certain how it could be a capacity issue. Any help in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi @Jake Holdsworth , try the high concurrency connection mode, seems to alleviate this issue for me. Can also apply this option to pipelines to improve runtime.
