An Epitome of Trad British Men’s Perfumery
This is a sit-up-and-take-notice fragrance from a comparatively new niche house that knows how to do British perfumery right. The house was launched precisely to provide traditional men’s perfumery done in a slightly modern way. It succeeds. But Arezzo (as opposed to the other offerings) doesn’t smell particularly like British perfume. Rather, it is a unique blend of British, French, and Middle Eastern. There’s mandarin off the top but almost immediately the spices and leather and animalics rush in. It is difficult to compare this to any other fragrance, and I say that as a compliment. It doesn’t smell like a mixture of any other fragrances either. The closest would be Amouage King Blue, but it is much, much more elegant than that. The fruit and spices and leather and oud create a unique, striking impression. With notes like these, you can imagine how long-lasting this is. A notable cool-temperature-suitable contribution from the house of Naughton and Wilson.

How/when do you wear it most often?
Done with designers!
It may be just me but I’m finding designers now a days boring and very uninspiring. I get my nose on a lot fragrances and they are almost all sweet, generic, mass appealing copies of each other. I must say I at least appreciate the middle eastern clones that add a twist, and the indie niche brands who push the envelope and step out of the typical comfort zone. I’m not saying their aren’t any designers that aren’t amazing and smell great however I am saying as a whole it feel very mid and makes me want to stay away.

Have you found anything you like a bit more off the beaten track (ie not designers)?

Ironically, I'm not sure this brand is sold in England!
Petrichor
Any fragrances that have undertones of petrichor, that earthy, slightly salty smell you get when it rains on dry soil? I've noticed so many people comment that they like that smell when it rains after having not rained for a while, even if they don't know the word for it.

The Hawas rat race is getting insane..
I’ve been a big fan of this line from the beginning and currently have 7 flankers including the OG on my shelf as it is, but lately Rasasi has been releasing flankers three and four at a time it seems making it pretty dumb trying to keep up now. My eye however has been on the Exotic and Thunder flankers as of late but still can’t find them anywhere online at the normal Hawas price range and/or widely rolled out yet. So as I’m going through my daily Jomashop scrolling at home today I see these final two additions that I had no idea even existed and haven’t seen any info regarding these online whatsoever. I impulse bought the Overdose. They both say limited quantity and are around the normal price range for these bottles (sub$50). Neither is registered on Fragrantica either. Did I just strike gold with this mystery release. Stay tuned for first wears when it comes in. Smell great brothers.

At this point is it even about the fragrance any more, and more about companies pumping out new and limited editions just to sell to collectors?

Well that's the main thing! So long as you (and your nearest and dearest) enjoy them!
