Thank you and welcome to all you founding members! I really appreciate you getting on board with my new initiative. ⏰ Just a reminder that my free enrolment ends this week, so if you know of any other expat mums who could do with a little TLC, encourage them to sign up asap.

Thank you for inviting me ! I'm very glad to participate.
The day has come…
Lovely morning putting up the Xmas tree with the toddler (for the first time!). Feeling bittersweet as always at this time of year - missing friends and family - but for the first time in many years I’m excited. Celebrating Xmas with children makes it all the better 🥰 Your experiences mammas?

Appreciating my adopted country
It’s easy to fall into the trap of constantly comparing your new country to your homeland, usually with a sense of homesickness or frustration. It does help sometimes to make an effort, however, to appreciate the little things that perhaps you’ve become so accustomed to that you forget how ‘new’ they once were. Today I was reminded how pleasurable it is to be able to pop down to the local street markets, soak up the atmosphere and buy locally grown, absolutely fresh and seasonal produce…Usually sold directly by those who grew them. It always makes me feel connected just a little bit more to the seasons and natural passage of time. 💛 What could you say is a simple pleasure for you in your new country? 👇 Post below

@Maria White Over time, I’ve stopped the comparison game and started vibing with the local food! 🧀 As a total cheese lover, I couldn't always find my French favorites, but I’ve discovered some amazing new local gems. Now I have a new problem: I miss those cheeses whenever I travel elsewhere! The struggle is real.😂
Reflection time
The pain of the expat mother: knowing your kid is experiencing a great lifestyle in another country, but also wishing it was your hometown. Anyone else have these moments? For me in particular it’s living a 5 min walk to the beach, which would be impossible to afford back in Australia now.

@Maria White Oh, I totally get you—the eternal conundrum! Having moved so much for my dad’s job, I’ve learned to really value having roots. That said, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything; it’s what made me so open-minded, adventurous, and ready for whatever life throws at me! I'm happy to share this type of expat experience with my daughter (she now speaks 4 languages) but I'm also making sure she has time to create a life where she is and I'm not willing to make her move as often as I did as a child.
That time of the year…
As a teacher I’m spending this week getting students to finish their Xmas projects. As a parent I’m wondering what’s going to be coming home this week to my place! Any memories spring to mind?

Nice craft! I got lucky, my daughter's teacher always made cute cards or drawings with pictures of her or some beautiful drawings. Never got any pasta necklace 😉
