Whats your go to method when starting a new character design?
Do you like to write up a little back story? look at other artists work for inspiration?

I usually have a big inspo out of nowhere, and start looking for references to enhance the ideais I already have. I'm not a big fan of thinking of a big story (I'm horrible at thinking of back stories, I feel like everything sounds too cliché) so I only think of basic story stuff to keep me grounded and don't lose my initial ideia 😅 I'm sure this is not the best way of doing it but it's what I'm used to do

@Gloria Sanguino True, I also feel like sometimes I get way too stuck on the first ideia and that affects the design. I'm sure I have to start practicing more back story writing to help me do better designs, I never know when it's the back story good enough or if I need to add more..

Studying other artists
Hello! I've been studying some artists that really inspire me in terms of style and anatomy! I'm kinda satisfied with how much I could learn just by drawing from ref and trying to understand how they simplified anatomy, proportions and colors! Also, would love to hear feedbacks and to know others artists that inspire you guys!

@Mike Ministro Thanks Mike!! Tb Choi's work is truly a great inspiration, the way she draws clothing is another level! I Would do anything to participate on her mentorship 🤧 I've been following Nesskain for a while, I first started following him bc of the buffed females he draws 🤣 His rendering is top tier! You've made some great studies as well! They look awesome, the third one especially!

Character Design
This was my second time going through the full character design process. Still not sure really how to do the line art, and digital drawing is WAY different than traditional, but I think this attempt was better for sure.
