I took new years eve and day off so there is nothing to recap. Based on some feedback I decided to adjust my time table. I'll be slowing down a bit with the intent to cap my study time to around 4 hours/day.

One of my intentions for this group is to provide resources for everyone to level up as engineers and learn about AI. To that end, I plan to build courses and make them available. The first one I make will be free but in the future some may be paid. Here is a brief description of what I'm thinking. 1. Python Basics - a collection of resources to learn Python 2. Build a ChatGPT clone - connect a ChatGPT to your data without giving that data to OpenAI 3. Build your own AI-enhanced Chrome extension - use AI around the web more directly What do you want me to build first?

For those of you who are new to the Skool platform here are a few things to get you started: 1. Your level goes up when other people like your comments and posts. 2. Your profile will show activity level - kinda like GitHub does with commits 3. Activities that count include - liking someone else's stuff, posting, commenting, and voting in polls. I skimmed this, and most of them sound plausible. I think they are all likely if you move to a 3 year time horizon. I've copied the predictions word for word i.e. I'm didn't inject politics into the article. 1. Meta will begin charging for use of its Llama models. 2. Scaling laws will be discovered and exploited in areas beyond text—in particular, in robotics and biology. 3. Donald Trump and Elon Musk will have a messy falling-out. This will have meaningful consequences for the world of AI. 4. Web agents will go mainstream, becoming the next major killer application in consumer AI. 5. Multiple serious efforts to put AI data centers in space will take shape. 6. An AI system will pass the “Turing test for speech.” 7. Major progress will be made on building AI systems that can themselves autonomously build better AI systems. 8. OpenAI, Anthropic and other frontier labs will begin “moving up the stack,” increasingly shifting their strategic focus to building applications. 9. As Klarna prepares for a 2025 IPO, the company’s claims about its use of AI will come under scrutiny and prove to be wildly overstated. 10. The first real AI safety incident will occur. My thoughts: I don't care about most of these. Such as 5, 6, and 8. My reaction to those is "Well duh. So what?" I do like that the author put in 10 though. I believe there is a 100% chance of that happening at some point in the future, and the only real questions are "When will it happen?" and "How bad will it be?". I think that 4 and 7 go hand in hand. I believe that agentic systems are necessary for building systems that can build other systems.
