Let me reintroduce myself…
I’ve always had this feeling that I was meant for more. Like when I was a Girl Scout and sold the most cookies, not because I was the loudest, but because I had a goal: that summer camp trip. That was the first time I understood how strategy and faith could move things. Then I joined the National Guard to pay for college. That season taught me grit, service, and how to hold it together under pressure. Graduated in 3 ½ years because I was focused. I knew I had work to do. I wasn’t trying to waste time. Earned two master’s degrees, not to collect letters behind my name, but to be prepared. I’ve always believed that if God opens a door, you better be ready to walk through it. The first time I asked for a raise, I didn’t just ask for myself, I spoke up for every high-performing woman on the team. And guess what? We all got one. That moment showed me the power of advocacy and alignment. And then came the curveballs. I lost my job. Twice. In less than two years. Right after losing my grandmother. Right after putting my dog down after 12 years. It felt like grief after grief after grief. That was hard. I questioned a lot. But it also cracked me open. Showed me how to rebuild. How to trust God’s reroute. How to get still, get real, and get back up. So no, this path hasn’t been straight. But every part of it, every win, every loss, every whisper from God has brought me here. I used to buy Payless shoes and ride the bus to work. Not because I didn’t have taste, but because that’s what the moment called for. And I still showed up looking sharp and walking proud. I remember my first plane ride like it was yesterday. And since then? I’ve walked the Ramblas in Barcelona. I stood in awe at the Winter Garden in Berlin. I’ve felt the pulse of the crowd at a Manchester United game in the UK. Each moment reminded me, this girl from Cleveland, Ohio? She was never meant to stay small. And one of the most defining moments of my life? Preaching my grandmother Vida Mae’s funeral.
