After talking with @Mentor Bob Kinney and @Nancy R about hidding the pick i tried to implement it... not so subbtle but it worked. I guess with work i could get better.

Fly Me to the Moon
Been a while. Maybe 11 months? Thought I'd post proof of life. Nothing special. Simple take on Fly me to the Moon. Trying to find a way to work the music back in to my days. Long story short - I've been pulled from University teaching into a more active government role. Hope to resurface in November. In the meantime.... https://youtu.be/y-shB9DYKbY

2026-09-05 REPLAY Q&A Call
Hey, everyone! Thanks for coming to last Saturday's Q&A Call! We had lots of interesting questions and topics discussed + demos. That afternoon, Coach Marc's good friend and an established guitarist, Eric Couture-Telmosse, was in the studio to answer some more questions for us. Check it out! @Mentor Bob Kinney and i do all that. Play over a chord or just a part of a song. No harm i that. I personnally think noodling is underrated in some situations. Just getting to know a scale and trying to make melodies with no rules other that staying in the scale to learn it. Your fingers need to learn to move to be able to play hard lines and to me noodling is a great way to get your fingers moving. But obviously you also need to have 'serious' practice time too.
Improvising
After our talk on the call i thought this was interesting... mostly the part about Frank realising he's king of like us (better but with the same challenges) @Paul Marsch
@Mentor Kyle Bradley i agree and i think you're right about licks. For me licks are really useful and inspiring and can get you out of tough spots. The key for me is to not sound calculated and try stuff. But once again my point was more about Gabale who did use licks... maybe too much in his opinion, which is where we are. And if i'm honest i have a hard time with people who say they improvise new things all the time... even Metheny plays that parallel 3rds going down in a lot of solos and we definitly recognise his playing...so he plays licks ideas derived ... clearly the idea is to mix licks and new things in my opinion.

@Casey Childers i use the looper a lot. I can loop the chords then loop the solo then redo the chords and on and on I also like band in a box, ireal and genius jamtracks. And let us not forget backing tracks on youtube. I find that thise tools help me try without any fear... and then hopefully it will come out in my improv when i play with people
