Makenzie Sandler Wed, May 6, 2026 12:00 PM EST Cultural Sensitivity: Unconscious Bias Unconscious bias can shape clinical judgment, communication, and decision-making in subtle but meaningful ways. In this session, Makenzie Sandler explores how implicit biases develop and how they may impact interactions with clients, families, and colleagues in ABA. Participants will review relevant BACB Ethics Code standards related to equity, cultural responsiveness, and professional conduct while learning practical strategies to recognize and mitigate personal bias. The presentation also incorporates concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping participants identify their values and examine how behavior aligns with those values in professional settings. Through reflection, discussion, and real-world examples, attendees will gain tools to support more thoughtful, ethical, and culturally responsive decision-making. THE BEHAVIORIST BOOKCLUB LIBRARY IS BACK
I catalogued, sorted, summarized, and related 28,000 ABA articles, then put the entire resource on my website for everyone to use. 5+ years ago, I got started by providing ABA Research Article Summaries. Finally, FINALLY, I have come full circle and created the resource that I always dreamed about having myself. https://behavioristbookclub.com/aba-research/ Here is how to use it 1- Identify your clinical challenge and select the correct category 2- Read the overview pages to give you a lay of the "current research" before selecting any one specific article to dive into 3- Check out the "Should I read this" section that was created for every single article and determine if it is clinically relevant for your practice 4- Use the citations to check out the full-text article (available through your BACB account) if you think it is worth reading Alternatively, use the search bar to scan the entire corpus at once! Free to use. Have fun!

I have been using this for the past few days and love it!! The overview is super helpful. Some feedback for the search function, it would be good to have additional filters or sorting - especially date filters (if this is already there please let me know!!)
