Starting Off
Hey team, Happy Friday - what a week it has been with the school holidays! A quick read about starting - how have you found starting the program? It is tricky to know the "best" time to start. What I have found is that the perfect time doesn't really exist. Starting something new, particularly if it requires investment of time and energy, is hard. It is a change in your routine, and from a physiological and psychological perspective, your body and brain won't like it. New areas of your body will be comfortable. New stresses may appear. So what I like to focus on is the idea of "Messy Action". Messy Action is exactly that, a bit messy. Again, not about it being pretty, just getting it done. So the program may say, 60 minutes, but 15 is okay because it's a start. And a start is more than where you stopped yesterday. Kia ora koutou! I’m Lynlee, I have two beautiful young children and they are my running buddies in their double pram so our goal isn’t as specific as the ones above arohamai! My mahi is high stress and with two active toddlers I feel the need to prioritise my self care and also my overall wellbeing and fitness. My new years goals this year are to stick to my goals 😅 and to set myself the space for a year of fitness. So my running goal is to actually go running…. Die a little less each time would be also a benefit and to learn how to set myself up for success. (If that makes sense) Thanks for having me and I’m excited to be here✨
