I'm going to tell you something I've only ever said on the podcast.
Three years ago I was sitting at my keyboard building what I thought was the best veteran fitness program on the internet. Reps. Macros. A 3 day split. Sleep protocols. And it worked. Over a hundred veteran men coached. Over a thousand pounds gone. Chronic pain down across the board. I hated running it. Not because it failed. Because I finally admitted what it actually was. I was doing exactly what every other coach on the internet was doing, with combat stories sprinkled on top. So I did what any reasonable biochemist with a master's in education would do. I ate a shitload of mushrooms. I'm not writing this to sell you on psilocybin. I've covered that at length on the podcast. But somewhere in there, while I was busy contemplating my entire existence, something landed that I have never been able to shake. I'm not just a collection of cells working in beautiful harmony. That harmony is the essence of God. That experience brought me back to my Christianity. It also rewired what I understand my actual job to be. I'm not coaching veterans to get leaner. Veterans are seeking spiritual guidance more than anything after war. We disguise it as physical change. The body is the doorway. It was never the destination. I think about the veteran who tears up on a call when I ask them why they really want to lose the weight. It's never about the weight. It's about something that's been screaming to get out since the day they took the uniform off. They just never had words for it. So here's my question, and I want real answers. 👇 When you decided to get your health back, what were you actually chasing? Not the number on the scale. The thing underneath it. Harden Up. Dave

The more fit version of myself I guess. Lead by example for my kids. I turn 50 in February and I want to enter my 50s at 210lbs or less. I've already dropped 15lbs since January. I stay in shape as is for my 2nd career as a civi firefighter to keep the team safe but I can function better in all aspects of life if my fitness is better all around. Does that answer the question? I think so.

No, it was the veterans service officer asked me to post it in groups. He's ex armoured, peri staff and postal.
Should Testosterone Testing Be Mandatory?
Last week, Sec of War, Pete Hegseth made a video titled "High-T Department of War". Not surprisingly, with a title like that, the internet and MSM blew up with interviews and commentary. I was thrilled. FINALLY, the mainstream is talking about what I've been screaming about for years... MOST VETERAN MEN AREN'T SUFFERING WITH BRAIN CHEMISTRY ISSUES, IT'S LOW T! I don't know a single veteran, including myself, who was diagnosed with PTSD who had a blood test done before their diagnosis. Low T creates terrible moods, low energy, inability to get going, poor sex drive and weight gain. I addressed the news story head-on in my latest episode of the Hard To Kill Podcast. I'd love to know your take on this in the comments below. PS - Don't forget to subscribe to my YT channel if you haven't already. It's good stuff.

VAC Claims Workshop - Are you coming?
This is not quite in my wheelhouse, but I keep getting asked the same questions by my friends and community members about how to submit VAC Claims. I realize I know more than 99% due to sheer stubbornness and an incredible veteran network of research squirrels. It inspired me to create an AI tool to help my friends and me. Once I realized that only 25% of eligible veterans are making claims, I decided to take action and share what I know with any CAF veterans who want to hear it. I put one post up asking if you'd show up for a workshop on filing VAC claims. 132 reactions. 65 comments. 7 shares. That's not engagement. That's a pressure valve releasing. So we're doing it. 👉On June 24 at 7 PM EST, I'm walking you through exactly how the VAC claims system works — from the three forms you need, to what your applicant statement actually has to say, to a live demo of the AI tool I built specifically for Canadian veterans. Here's what you leave with: → The exact nexus language that gets claims approved (and the vague garbage that gets them denied) → A VRAB cross-referencing strategy most vets don't know exists → How to protect your IRB and DEC benefits — because VAC can reassess them, and most people don't know that → A live walkthrough of My VAC Account so you know what you're actually looking at PM Borden made a promise in 1916. The Pension Act was the law. The Veterans Well-being Act is today's version of that covenant. None of it matters if you don't file. Seven dollars. One hour. Everything you need to start.
