👋 Member Introductions – Tell Us About Yourself
Welcome! This is where we get to know each other. Drop a comment below and introduce yourself. Tell us: - What's your name? (First name is fine) - What do you shoot? (Rifles, pistols, shotguns, vintage, modern, all of the above? Completely new to the gun game?) - What brought you here? (Curious about gunsmithing? Want to level up your maintenance game? Collector? Hunter? Just exploring?) - Anything else you want us to know? (Your story, what you're working on, what you're curious about, etc.) Why We Do This We're a community, not just a platform. Getting to know each other makes this place better. Real connections = better learning. Jump In Don't overthink it. Just introduce yourself and have fun! We're glad you're here. — Lydia & the BCAC Team

Hey everybody! My name is Lydia, I am the other half of the BCAC team. I am the one that runs the Skool page for the most part, so more often than not you will see my name attached to a post under Hootey's label(Like above!). I personal shoot a lot of different things, my favorites being revolvers and lever-action rifles, but I'll take the opportunity to try out whatever I can when it comes through the shop. Hootey and I have been married for going on 4 years now, but have been together and been friends for much longer(since before he even started the shop!). I have worked in the Shop in a small capacity a majority of the time we have been together, but at the beginning of this year we made the jump to where I am now with BCAC full time. We are very excited to build up this community and meet like-minded enthusiasts, and learn as much as we can teach!
What's your biggest workshop challenge? Let's solve it together
Spring cleaning season is here, and temperatures are finally rising! This week, we're diving back into a deep workshop clean and organization—getting everything closer to where it needs to be. Why does this matter? A fresh, organized workspace directly impacts the quality of your work and your safety. We're resetting everything this year: finalizing our new space, how we organize by frequency of use, proper tool storage to prevent rust, and creating zones for different types of work. Whether you're a gunsmith or a firearm enthusiast maintaining your own collection, these principles apply. A disorganized shop leads to mistakes, lost tools, and wasted time. But spring cleaning isn't just about the workspace—it's about mindset. New season, fresh perspective, same commitment to the craft. When you reset your environment, you reset your focus. That's why we're looking forward to this. And if you need something comfy to wear, grab a BCAC tee or tank while you're at it. When you wear BCAC, you're saying: "I value craftsmanship. I respect the tradition. I'm part of this community." Spring is the perfect time to refresh your gear, your workspace, and your commitment to excellence. What's your spring project? Share it in the comments—let's inspire each other. https://www.teepublic.com/stores/bcac63?ref_id=22683&utm_campaign=22683&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=BCAC63

Lydia from the BCAC team here! Our biggest challenge thus far has been getting the Shop space as a whole ready for use. When we purchased the property we are on now, we inherited a bit of a mess, not only in what was left in the building itself, but also in the shoddy craftsmanship of the structure and electrical work. This year, we are finally hitting the point where we get to begin the actual organization and set up portion of having this space, and we are looking forward to getting to finally grow into our new space, the way we have always wanted to. Looking forward to Spring!
