Weekly Wins!
Hey all - let’s share something that went well in our gardens this week! Even if it was a tiny achievement or step forward - a small win can be the difference between growth and stagnation in our spaces. Each week I will pin this thread to the top of the community section for us to share a photo or comment from our spaces. This will work to keep everyone motivated and allow us to celebrate and share these magnificent moments that could inspire you and anyone else who sees it! Let’s do this!

hey folks 🌻 love this idea @Sam Betteridge okay so what I’m enjoying lately is feeling this essence of co-creation. We don't irrigate, and 95% of this space has been growing from seeds, cuttings, and tubestocks (besides the trees along the fence line which I’ve been pruning for biomass). I’ve been adding to the seed bank, so whenever there’s a period of heavy rain—I love seeing who comes out to play. The shorter video was planted out 1 month and 1 week ago using direct sowing and cuttings. The main focus here is soursop who is hiding in between the leucaena.. there’s probably 20-25 seeds, and as this space evolves and relationships complexity, I’ll be observing closely and managing these relationships as best I can. there are quite a few gaps which I’ve grown and then broadcasted papaya, castor oil, cannalilly, and pigeon pea seeds and aim to have a lovely understory of cacao, coffee, herbs, and.. well I feel as though the more will I apply to this space, the more energy it’ll take to upkeep. So I’m open to creating opportunities for mother nature to show me who wants to express and join the party. https://youtube.com/shorts/NmEG8RbC_2o?si=8P5QUIIZc_CEoXm2 https://youtube.com/shorts/aSgUNaV-3IY?si=s8X17UDd7j4Igczf

Urban Frog Farming - Raised Riparian Nursery - Micro Market Garden
I’ve always got projects on the go on my Nano Farm… That is the secret behind creating a LEARNING GARDEN - there is always 1, 2 or 3 things running simultaneously that is leading to a potential result or outcome. Additionally, having different projects going at once allows for me to push the edge of my understanding on things. It means I always have the opportunity to learn something new. Check out how some of the mistakes I’ve made have lead to new understandings literally leaping out of my raised wicking planters! Stay tuned for more to come! Have you guys noticed anything interesting in this video? Got any questions about wicking beds? Perhaps you’ve played with something similiar in the past… let us know below! 👇

heyyy ya’ll 🌻 beautiful space you’re initiating here, Sam. we steward a 600m2 block in Slacks Creek, QLD, with a core focus on soil health. the intention for this space is to co-create a diverse, thriving ecosystem that expresses as a place to play, observe, and one that fosters invitation and collaboration. since we’ve been away from home for the past 3 weeks, I’m really looking forward to seeing the growth of our 2.5 y/o food forest. we hadn’t had any rain for 4 weeks, and it has been raining recently. I did a pretty intense chop and drop before I left—feeling really eager to see how the plants respond, and how the seed bank will react and who will sprout up. aaaaand really eager to get lots of cuttings and seedlings in the ground—especially that we don’t irrigate, we have to time these relations. thanks, Sam! 🌻
