Hi all - for a long time now I’ve been thinking about what is the best way to learn about growing food. After playing around with a few ideas, I thought to myself - “What if the crop itself was the learning experience?!” So this is what I’ve done - I’ve picked 22 different edible crops that I like to eat and also want to improve my growing skills with and created individual cards for each. The ideas is, you pick a crop you like and start growing it using the info I’ve provided. I’m really digging the pixel art cards I’ve created, too! These are great for your own learning or as a way to get our students growing and learning in our LEARNING GARDENS! Each crop quest has an attached post for you to interact with as well. This means you can share your progress and the process of growing that crop with other members in the community. Over the coming weeks I’ll be adding to this classroom and creating content for each card! Stay tuned for some videos of me and my kids in our LEARNING GARDEN getting started on our Crop Quests!
