🏍️ Riding While Pregnant…
I’ve been tossing around an idea and wanted to get your thoughts. As some of you know, I’m pregnant with baby #2. 💛 It’s got me wondering… would anyone actually be interested in a little series where I document my riding (or not riding!) throughout pregnancy? Not as advice, because every pregnancy is different and everyone’s circumstances are different. Listening to your own body (and your healthcare team) always comes first. More as a real-life journal of: • When I decided to stop riding • How my confidence changed (or didn’t) • Comfort, gear, and bike fit • The emotions that come with taking a break • Getting back on the bike after baby I feel like it’s a topic that isn’t talked about much, but I also don’t know if there’s actually any interest in it. So tell me… 🩷 Have you ridden while pregnant? 🩷 Would you be too scared to? 🩷 Is this something you’d genuinely be curious to follow, even if you’re not pregnant yourself? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 👇

New Bike! What do I need?
Hi All, I have just bought a BMW GS 310 - I intend to ride it mostly around our Queensland Coastal and hinterland sealed and dirt roads generally only going out for short rides or half a day - I’ve been thinking about what extras I should buy for it. If this post resonates with anyone and/or they have a similar bike, could you please share what you bought? I’m thinking some kind of quadlock for my phone, but I am a bit worried with weather because it’s got a cracked screen so maybe a cover for it? Some kind of bike lock to- to stop someone stealing my bike. Both when I’m parked up somewhere and maybe gone for a walk or from my garage at home when I leave it open (I don’t always Lock it cause my Animals like to snooze in there.…) also those Insta 360s look pretty fun. Any advice on those? I am thinking of getting crash bars put on the bike and maybe replacing the plastic guard underneath it for a stronger one… The bag on the back doesn’t come with the bike… I thought I might get a Tank bag… I used to have one years ago and loved it. Thoughts? And maybe some basic mechanical stuff? I know nothing about that kind of thing… anyone from coastal Queensland know the best chain lube on the market currently for bikes that do on and off off-road? Salty air, humid conditions. BasicallyI want to set myself up with a few things before the end of the financial year while the sales are on! It’s going to be an expensive month for me, ha ha. Being Queensland I’m going to have to think about some cooler protective gear too - any suggestions? Gratefully received!

Congrats on the new bike! 😊 The G310GS sounds perfect for the kind of riding you’re describing. If it were me, I’d think about it in this order: 🛡️ Protection first Before spending money on gadgets, I’d be looking at crash bars, Barkbusters/hand guards and a decent bash plate. Those are the things that can save you a lot of money if the bike decides it wants a nap on a dirt road. 🔑 Convenience second Quad Lock (with the vibration dampener), a tank bag, USB charger and maybe a tyre pressure gauge. I actually love tank bags for day rides because everything is right there when you stop for coffee. 🎥 Fun stuff third Then I’d look at an Insta360. They’re ridiculously fun and make it easy to capture rides without having to think too much about camera angles. For security, I’d probably grab an alarmed disc lock for when you’re out and about. At home, if theft is a concern, a chain and ground anchor are about as good as it gets. As for maintenance, don’t overcomplicate it. A tyre pressure gauge, chain cleaner, chain lube and a basic tool kit will cover most of what you’ll need to start with. One thing I’d spend money on before half of the accessories above is rider training. The best upgrade I’ve ever made wasn’t to a motorcycle—it was to my riding. 😊 And being in coastal Queensland, I’d definitely keep on top of chain maintenance. Salt air is not your friend! Most importantly, enjoy it. It’s very easy to disappear down the accessory rabbit hole and forget that the bike is already capable of taking you on some pretty amazing adventures exactly as it is. ❤️🏍️

@Jan Saunders awesome photo!! Most dealerships will allow you to test ride any second hand bikes they have, but not usually new ones unless they’re demos, find a second hand to ride :) Let us know how the 310 goes!

Gear Confession Time…
What’s the one piece of motorcycle gear you absolutely couldn’t ride without anymore? 🏍️ Helmet? 🧤 Gloves? 🎧 Cardo? 🧥 Favourite jacket? 🦵 Riding jeans? 👢 Boots? Or… 😅 What’s the piece of gear you thought was unnecessary until you tried it? I’ll start: Cardo. I used to think they were overrated. Now I feel weird riding without one. 😂 👇 What’s yours? Bonus points if you post a photo! 📸💖

@Yana Colquitt especially when you see a wide range of riders online who wear different things. What I’ve been taught is: why would only experienced riders deserve the best protection? If anything you are just as likely if not more likely to fall as a beginner! Jackets and pants made for motorcycling are often rated based on the slide protection they will offer - and the road doesn’t care if you’re a beginner or a gp rider, it hurts all the same :) If you’re not comfortable “looking like” you’ve got all the gear on, there are many brands now that do armoured jeans, leggings, cargo pants etc, and some nice looking jackets that don’t look like big bulky leathers. It comes down to personal preference but keep it in mind!
